Stephanie Ryan checks traffic as the group nears its lunch destination on Friday. Stephanie’s 1960 Dorsett Catalina, named Sunburn, is always a crowd favorite. It won the People’s Choice award, voted by people attending the show.

I guess since everything is virtual these days, then I suppose we can do a boat show whenever we want. So why not today, as in winter when we need it most. So today if you kinda embrace your warm weather Chee. Then you are at a show. Right here in Woodyboaterville when its always 75, and flat waters.

A Neptune Mighty Mite outboard motor rests on the side board of a 1929 Ford Station Wagon, owned by Donna and Thomas Fitzgerald of Selma, NC. The vehicle was well outfitted with appropriate accessories for the hunting and fishing lodge theme applied to it, helping it repeat as the People’s Choice winner of the show.

A show goer looks over the engine compartment of Terry Limehouse’s 1941 Chris-Craft Model 101 during the Hilton Head Island Concours.

Al Olsen pilots Popeye, a 1917 Truscott Cabin Launch, back towards his home on Lake Hartwell. Al entertained the Thursday arrivals with a well-documented photo show of Popeye’s voyage through the Erie Canal last fall. He rebuilt the boat in record time, finishing it just before the Erie tour got underway.

  2. Troy in ANE

    That was a GREAT show!!!!

Lets go have a burger and beer at Palm Gardens now.

My life is complete – my boat showed up on WoodyBoater!!!

I had nothing to do with it, the appearance that is. My boat was commingling with other boats, safely distanced 6 feet apart, discussing whose owner loved them the most I imagine. It appears one may have gotten upset and blew his hatch

    Thank you Matt

Minus the boats that are at capacity, looks good to me. Probably as much distance as we do at work or at Costco, a mall or Walmart/grocery store. Like the pro sports teams, wear a mask on the sidelines but when your in the game or (the boat) just keep it on. The athletes take it off in the game but we’ll follow the rules at a classic boat show.

That Century Thunderbolt is the coolest boat I’ve seen in a long time. It looks like a lot of fun.

  8. Arnie

Memories of a 100 degree day and a cool off. Lapstrake love!!! Just like Dora – no docks at this show.

    • Kent from Valparaiso

Two beautiful things: A lapstrake boat and an English Springer Spaniel.

Penn Yan’s are nestled nicely in the Outboard section of this virtual show.

Matt, Thank you for including me in the 1st Boat Show of the year, not just once but twice. That is me too “out for a ride” on Lake Geneva. You made my owners day. He always says that being out for a ride with me puts him in his special place. :-))

My 1958 Lyman with the original 1957 Johnson 35hp. We round the daylights out of it on the Ohio River and have traversed all 14 locks on the Muskingum River in Ohio.

I used to have an old Dorset.I knew it didn’t leak when I bought it as the dealer forgot to pull plug when on trailer and it was brim full of rain water.
