Slow peaceful ride

I am not one to burry my head in the sand. And living in the DC area and having co workers who had to lock down and evacuate there homes is a painful reminder that turning away from crazy is the same as condoning it. But here, we can escape for a break. After all we can escape the bad weather, why not bad behavior? And the best way to do that is a boat ride. Even if it’s for only a couple minutes.

Into the sun

Always leave a wake of joy

Slow turns on flat water

Rocket Rides

Hacker rides

Slower Rides

Rides with loved ones

Red White and Blue ride!

Ride. Ride Ride.

We will rise above this.

Matt, I was actually thinking about your proximity to all that as I watched in horror and misbelief yesterday. Yes, we must rise above this!

We all need to bring back civility in our nation. No one can escape responsibility for what happened yesterday. Pray for America.

    You´re so rigth Matt! 🙂

But you north Americans need to get your shit together and take your nation seriously!

@Roberta: Praying is not going to help here, sorry to say, just hard work!

Thanks for providing a distraction from all the mess. Almost wish there were 12 hours of WoodyBoater per day!

Congrats on the peaceful ride, That’s the way I use my 1941 16ft Chris. One year, at a regional show, I was asked to take along a fellow boater whose boat had broken down. After a while he tried to take the steering wheel from me to “show you what this boat can do”, to which I replied “any more comments, you will be put off on an island”. When we stopped for a rest, he got out, I drove on.

I wonder how different our world would be today if Twitter would have “suspended” a certain account 4 years ago.

      David,
Quite different. I think. As would it be if there were still actual news sources available in this country, instead of the continuous torrents of opposing propaganda that pose as news. And, if all were held to a single standard.

Boats are my go-to for finding commonalities with “the other side”.

WoodyBoater is my daily politics-free zone…. Im sure there are many divergent political opinions amongst us all but keeping the focus on boating is such a welcome relief from the news.
Thanks Matt! we need more Bruiser photos! maybe a t-shirt line as well! No rabbits in Matts yard this spring for sure!

Thanks Matt, for providing us with a peaceful escape from yesterday‘s madness. A boat ride would be calming right now. I’m still trying to comprehend the whole thing. I thought I would never see anything like that in my lifetime in the USA. Peace to all.

“When the going gets tough, the tough go boating!” My motto for many years… Whether on the lake or in the shop, the escape/relief/distraction – whatever you want to call it – of boating is welcome and real.

As a Michigander I remember being astonished when after the Tigers won the World Series in 1984 the celebration turned into riots with smashing windows and burning cars. It was the first time I could remember that a certain very small segment of our population would use any reason, good or bad, as an excuse for mob mentality and destruction with no regards to the basic principles of decency and morals. Over the years since that time we have seen it over and over again and now it seems to be getting worse. That being said I have to keep reminding myself that this is not how 99.99% of the population lives and that people are decent, hardworking and respectful.

Not going boating today [wish I was] but still managed to get some tinkering done on the boat so its the next best thing!
