Ice Storms, Mud, No Power, And Yet, Here We Are!

,

Mud, Ice, Rain, Mud, and More Mud

4AM, power goes out. 4 :15 AM. in work boots, coveralls and hooking up the GD Generator. Why? Coffee, cause if there is no coffee in da house. It’s not a, wll.. a good thing, and then another cord to the interneter machine. I need a gas powered internet. So, right now, I am running on a battery powered laptop, internet run by a generator and ya know what?

The Railway a couple weeks ago

Cleaning up. or smearing mud around. Its a matter of interpretation.

Did Mr B, dig!

5 truck loads of Gravel.

Thats all good. Heat? Well. its a wait and see situation. Our home is from 1925, so, lets just say its not the tightest tick on the cow?  Boats? What  does this have to do with boats?

You all think the Boatress is so sweet. OH! You know so little!

When the header is down, you can still feel my pain. COME ON.. Mud in the house?

What mud?

Who needs a skid steer when Mr B is on da job!

Here. Above is what greets me daily after I visit the railway. To say its a mud pit is giving to much credit to mud. basically half the railway is on the water. In the water and a drain for the street above. Which is why on Main Street Reedville there is a Marine Railway anyway. It’s the perfect spot. Back in the day if you were the first to develop land, you were able to pick the natural setting that matched your needs. And this is perfect and not changed.

If its not mud its a clay mixture.  See the little heart of love on the dirt? Happy Valentines Day! DEAR.. All soon will be gravel, Purvious stone and purvious concrete.

Stay tuned. We have some great Before and afters.

Here is a rough drawing of parking and landscape. Next door used to be a Texaco Dock, and is a Sears and Robuck home. All renovated beutifully BTW And yes, Cleaned up.

Not much to add to this one, but I do remember Suzy’s reaction when I talked about varnishing in one of the empty bedrooms during the winter months. She was not impressed and thought Sandi to be an Angel to allow it.

I love the inclusion of your old truck driving by in the rendering! Your bush drawing skills could use a little work, but that’s a minor issue, and you have a couple months before planting season to get them up to snuff.

BTW, please don’t erase any houses in your drawings, we don’t want any more neighbors dying from dark photoshop voodoo magic!

Hey, take heart (especially TODAY), I remember the old Texaco dock and all the tanks on shore…awful…all of that is cleaned up and gone, restaurant, public available docking, much reduced fish rendering smell… Reedville is a happening place…what we in ole Va call “a destination location”.
Months from now it will be dust.

Hope you can put that power line underground. If you’re leveling and improving foundation, spray foam under the floor and put in radiant floor heat from above and your replacement floor over that. You wouldn’t want to cover it with carpet tho, that would reduce efficiency. Then your heat would be most effective keeping your feet the warmest and on up. I’m good at spending someone else’s money. I agree with pulling the tin and adding sheet foam insulation to maintain open rafters and do the same for your siding and powering the fan with what’s left of the belt drive.

Are you trying to tell us something, Matt? “Testicals”? Does the lady of the house share your spelling gene, or…???

The “lady” doth protest too much, methinks, lol.

The roof area is still original, the floors and walls have been replaced several times, as well as the building has been raised . Door moved etc. I found an old painting of the building from artist john Barber. Just need to get it delivered.
