Sweet Pea Does Lake Dora!

Wohooo! We are here

That’s it! I have had enough of this sitting at home stuff. I secretly left 3 months ago in Sweet Pea and am on Lake Dora now. I am doing all my favorite things, Palm Gardens, The Canal, And just going up and down the lake. It does have its challenges.

That left a mark. Sorry Tavares.

But I brought my Saws all, and other tools. Getting through the canal has been the trickiest part. I keep crushing gators, but on a good note, the bottom of Sweet Pea is clean! That Florida Sand is like sanding the bottom, so when I get back in September I can paint the bottom.

Whats all that thumping?

If you see me out there clogging up the water ways, wave! Woohooo!

Anyone know where a pump out station is?

That greenish brown water won’t clean anything! You need to go to Michigan to get the bottom clean. Torch lake maybe? Or you could clean it at home…if only you knew someone with a marine railway….hmmmmm.

Too bad they never finished the Cross Florida Barge Canal and connect up to the Harris/Dora chain. It was part of the Oklawaha which headed west off St Johns River south of Palatka on the west bound side. Coming from the east coast, it used the Withlacoochee River and Lake Rosseau and then comes within 1000 ft of Lake Panasofffkkee. And that’s within 10 miles of Lake Harris. Might only be good for a Disappearing Propellor boat cruise though as it might be grown over with water lily.

Watertribe does an annual boat race from Tampa around the keys and back up the Atlantic coast back across the interior of Florida ending back in Tampa. Somewhere in the north is a short portage and you have to transport your own boat with what you brung.
