A Reproduced Birthday For Our Friend Al Schinnerer

Al Schinnerer at 2011 Lake Tahoe Concours

Today we are doing a special best preserved, restored Birthday story for Our Friend Al Schinnerer. This story ran back in 2015 and so we will try and adjust it for today?  TODAY – MONDAY Tuesday JUNE 8TH, 2015  2021 is an important day for us here at Woody Boater, as we join with the classic boat community to wish our friend Al Schinnerer a Happy 90 th 96th? Birthday!

Al’s endless knowledge and contributions to the antique and classic boat hobby over the years are remarkable. We have had the pleasure of spending some quality time with Al at boat shows and gatherings around the country, including the Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance and South Lake Tahoe shows, Lake Arrowhead and a ACBS International events over the years.

Spending time with Al is always a memorable experience, and guaranteed you will leave with more knowledge that you came with – that’s what makes it so much fun when you are around Al.

Among his many accomplishments over the years, Al was inducted into the Hagerty Marine Insurance Hall of Fame in 2011.

For many years, Al’s company California Classic Boats, Inc has been providing classic boating enthusiasts with authentic show quality reproduction parts for antique and classic boats like Chris-Craft, Dodge, Gar Wood, and Hacker Runabouts and Utilities.

Al Schinnerer has also played a major role in the development of the Southern California Chapter ACBS and the annual Lake Arrowhead Classic Boat Show.

Happy 90th Birthday Al and thanks for everything you do for the hobby – we are honored to be your friend.

Also NEW HERE, an UPDATE on Als amazing business, California Classic Boats. As we reported earlier this Spring, the business is available and has been acquired. We will be reporting on all that soon, but its fantastic news for the community, and the business will be in the hands of the PERFECT FOLKS. The big issue now is the cost of transport of all the stuff. So a Go Fund Me page is going to be made so we can all contribute to the deal. STAY TUNED FOR THE OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!

Happy Birthday Al. You are a good friend and Mentor. Sad to here of the closing of California Classic Boats. I guess the trick is to know when to hold them and when to fold them. Enjoy your retirement, you have worked long and hard my friend and you deserve the best life has to offer.

      Happy birthday Al!
It was a great pleasure working with you in your shop and for the use of your shop for my boat projects. You’re a lot of fun to work with and I learned a lot about making parts. It was a sad day pulling the boat out last week. I’ll take you to Curlys soon. John

Happy Birthday Al! It was always fun to spend time with you at Lake Tahoe during the boat shows. Remember the year (2011) we all piled in to Marty’s cool Riva St. Tropez for a tour of Lake Tahoe? What a great day that was. – Texx

… For those of you that don’t know what at Riva St. Tropez looks like, here’s a shot from that same day. These twin big block Chevrolet powered Rivas are super cool and carve a huge hole in the water at speed.
