MISS COFFEE TABLE

I am goofy, but no way in hell could I make this stuff up. Okay, well, maybe I could, but thankfully our little community of woodyboaters is equally as nuts, and one nut produced a 8 foot Chris Craft ish thing and went all in. Including two weed wacker engines. The craziest part of all this, is.. I actually was thinking.. mmmmm, where could I put this thing? And mmmm 3K for this is not all that unreasonable. Then.. WTH? What am I thinking.. All this happened in about 10 seconds. And then it really hit me.

Okay? MISS WEEDY?

Hold on. I have a story today. WOOHOOOO. An ebay story. And its comment worthy, and on topic. No dogs, no dock shots, fingers over the lense stuff, no sleazy people asking..what is my boat and then trying to use us to sell it. But maybe, just maybe Horice will make some dumb ass comment and save the click rate today!

MISS END TABLE?

As so it goes.. Another day in Woodyboaterville. All is normal, now get the hell outta here and go boating.

HERE IS THE EBAY LINK, HAPPY 10 SECOND DREAMING

It says Algonac Michigan right on it so it must be some long lost factory display item. And then have I got a bridge to sell you.

  2. Matt

YES, that is factory vinyl lettering. I will throw in a state park as well.

Very authentic Sportsman Continental runabout gentleman’s racer model!

I think those are cuckoo clocks on the wall. Explains everything. If it was electric Id take it. Those twin engines will be nothing but double trouble.

And there’s a big grandfather clock in between the cuckoo’s. You can see the pendulum in the hatch closeup. I wonder if the boat has even been run in the water.

Ok ok I can see some wood boat enthusiast getting all cranked up on Wild Turkey and deciding to build himself (yes, a man, as no self respecting woman would even ponder the utter stupidity of the idea) a big ol assed wood boat model. Perhaps for some big fun or as ride for the grandkids etc. But then, the meth wears off and he heads on down to Ace Hardware to grab himself a couple of weed wackers. Doubt he had two of them just in the garage, no this maroon makes a conscience decision to fit some pain in the ass power to his folly. The weeks pass, fueled with more booze, cigarettes (oh trust me, this guy smokes) and some more mind altering substances, and bingo, the monstrosity is complete.

Then our idiot takes it to the local lake, spends all day trying to get the motors to work etc etc. The day ends with frustration and a vow to come back again.

He never does. Instead, he probably put on his wife beater tee and set the thing up in the living room.

Fast forward…he is now in ill health and his long abused missus can overpower the sob so she puts it on Ebay to fork in some cashola.

    Or not.

I have a couple of friends that have weed whacker motors on go fast model boat hulls. Those things fly. 100 mph plus in scale.

So the wood one should go at least twice as fast as a real Chris Craft.

Matt, I also noticed you don’t have any flat head engines around for display. You need some. They could be used as end tables, coffee tables, etc with a piece of glass over them.

Best use of a weed-whacker motor is a friend has a blender power by one. One evening years ago at the Chris Craft Rendezvous he had it on “Itchin” blending margaritas. It was late in the evening and when the sound echoed around the docks, the response was like the zombie apocalypse – guys came out of the dark to see who was playing with a chain saw… A woman aboard saw this and remarked “I wish I had one of those in college…”. 😉
