I’ll take it?
Yesterday I got this text.“Today the boat show is at The Boathouse in Minocqua Wi . Minocqua the island city playground of the rich and famous. Many pictures to follow.” Now on my text I dont have names. I know it’s a setting. But is just the way it is. I have enough setting issues.
Dream scene. You know thats a good cold beer and some chedder somethings here
There is still room on the ceiling for more
This is what all 12 steppers dream of
Oh hell ya.
Anyway, as I was doing more work at HQ the text messages started flowing in. Like the kid on a group text. It felt like I had a vibrator in my pocket……. INSERT OFFENSIVE JOKE HERE…….. Anyway, I looked down and saw 72 messages. WTF? I took the phone and iphone watch off and placed it far away. Called security, AKA Mr B, and then I was able to relax.
He looks thrilled. Hey, been there. parking lot burn out.
Well, as it turned out is was longtime fellow Woody Boater Steve Bunda, and a pile of dock shots from the boat show. How cool is that? Very cool. Now of course I have to weed through close to 100 text photos and well. Now you have to look at them. And of courser thankfully no captions so I don’t have to weed through all that and make sure Billy Bob’s boat isn’t labeled as Tommy D’s boat and Thordykes boat that won best in show isn’t misreported as Thadious boat, which could cause some issues at “Thads” house, since That is having an affair with Thorndyke’s daughter.. WOW, that went maybe a few words to far.. Here are the unedited pics.

What a great display of boats and people having a good time. That twin outboard Peterborough hardtop restomod has got to take the creativity award!
Guess I just don’t get your dislike of “dock shots”. While I like shots of boats running out on the water, I enjoy dock shots too. They provide interior views & details that can’t be captured with on water fly-bys & parardes.
The dogs are Keeshond and they have a boating history. I had a couple of them growing up. They are great pets.
The Keeshond (“kayz-hawnd”; Keeshonden, plural) was a hardy, nimble-footed barge dog long kept as a guard and companion on Dutch vessels that sailed the manmade waterways of the Low Countries. An unpretentious “people’s dog,” the Keeshond was a symbol of the 18th-century Dutch Patriots Party in its long opposition to the royal House of Orange. There’s historical disagreement over why the breed is called Keeshond: The name might refer to a Patriot mascot dog called Kees, or to two different Patriot leaders nicknamed “Kees.”
Great show! Thanks to Marc Toigo and the Boathouse.
great pics, got posted late? Hard day at the Railway? or just trying to figure out how to post steve’s neat stuff…I would be clueless.
Late postings must drive Lewandowski crazy as he is usually first with a comment. Early riser? No me. thanks for the nice report on a great show!
John in Va.
John, I just pour another cup of coffee and wait for Matt to do his thing. If I wait too long I just go boating!
Great post today showing what looked to be like a really good time. Always love seeing free Americans doing traditional American stuff. Some really cool photos as well…. thanks for posting.
Marc , his wife , friends, sponsors, The Boathouse, volunteers, boat owners , spectators, city of Minocqua , weekenders , visitors , and God ! Made for a wonderful fun packed 2 day event. Marc Toigo that took over the event from Gordon Moore the founder of the show, said literally thousands of people came to the event . The people were very generous with donations supporting nonprofits including the MS Society. Matt is lucky that I did not send more pictures because my I phone 6 ran out of battery . I wanted you guys and gals to get a feeling for the show and ambience of Northern Wisconsin. Some day it could be fun ,, or maybe a disaster? to do an actual live stream of a Wood Boat Show. I love bartending and meeting people , during my time working many people were asking for water. We did not have any at the bar , but I said we have bud lite and that is essentially the same thing. It worked.
Amazing boats! The boathouse looks great.
The Streblows are way cool. And I love that blue hulled rowboat with the fine foredeck and pike bow cleat. Definitely not a ceiling hanger. It should carry many more generations of kids learning to fish.
Great pics, wondering about that steering wheel myself, guess someone thought it was a good idea…
Great Show. thanks for sending in all the pictures Steve. I echo Mercstuns comment. It is good to see free Americans out doing traditional American stuff.
Visiting The Boathouse? You MUST get the Signature Hungarian Mushroom Soup! It is life changingly awesome good!
Great coverage guys. Looked a little overcast but luckily no rain. Nice variety of boats. Its always difficult to find a venue and those places that do provide one should be recognized for sure. Agree with your dock shot summary Kelly, most of us don’t have the pull to convince owners to get up early or to leave their prime dock space for a photo op.
