Stars and Stripes

This weekend we here in the U.S.of A celebrate our B day. And even though many parades and fireworks were last night, today is the day. Burgers on the grill, ice cream and warm sunsets. This is my favorite holiday of the year. No gifts, no forced family auckward dinners. Just a weekend of red white and blue.

So here is to you America. Here is to your, our way of life, our humanity, and generosity. Ya, we are not perfect, but we try. We invent, we create, we dream,  and united we stand. We forget sometimes with all the crazy news, and in fighting. Too little is focused on the good of us, and the good in the world. So, today I fly our flag with extreme pride, with joy in my heart, and gratitude for all that make this way of life possible.

Happy Independence Day! Yesterday was boating insanity for Rabbit on Balsam Lake, Wisconsin. I understand why you stay off the water this weekend, Matt. But the woodies had a pontoon parade to lead and I take that responsibility seriously!

This (Herter’s?) fiberglassic saved my straw hat, perfectly preserving my record of having never lost a hat at sea without a save.

And that Faribault blanket in your images ended up covering two laps during last night’s fireworks.
