Sunday Sausage While We Wait For Reports And Ida!

,

She is cute, but a little dinghy!!!!!

We are waiting on some fun reports, and sadly some not so fun reports in from New Orleans. But deadlines are deadlines, so this morning, you get some yummy sausage with your coffee varnish. For those of you new to Sausage days. Its a collection of unrelated stuff that is too small for a story, but makes a yummy meatloaf, sausage, casserole. And of course the comment section can take it to another universe.

Love old ads that actually had a concept, and point, not some crappy stock image and boring PC headline.

Finished with Silver outline. Painting on old boards is fine art. Or not so fine art. Like kinda bad art. Not Molly’s Art.. Thats great Art.

Painted office on the office door.

Cool old Aristo Craft Post card

NEW YORK post card

Thats one Red car!

Waiting for it to age now, like a fine wine.

Fence is going in today

Calm and hot. Just like the Boatress!

I love the photo of the cruisers in the marina. They had no idea how good they had it. Fond memories!

The sign lettering brought back a lot of memories. When I was 16 I bought a 1962 Ford Flacon van, for $250, and a 40 ft. aluminum extention ladder, and traveled around Arkansas and painted billboards on location.
    Traveling forward 50 years,
The ladder is now buried 6 ft deep, extended all the way up and is adorned with a flood light.
    Love those old adds.

    Matt,
The signage at the railway looks great. You’ve really developed a talent for sign painting.

Tarpon Springs Florida. I have been there several times. It is a very cool place. It was neat to see what it looked like in the 50s

My family and I were vacationing near there in the late ’40s and early ’50s. As a 10-year-old from Chicago, with eyes full of wonder, I was completely taken by the beauty and charm of Florida and particularly places like Tarpon Springs.

Ronnie and I are going to spend two weeks in Tarpon Springs with our RV over new years Week. We visited there last year on a day trip from Mt Dora and fell in love with the place.

About that ad, Matt. Yes, long live concepts. But the exclamation point, as you know, ruined it.

I’m sure you’re waiting for Steve and Dane’s photos from Gull Lake. Unfortunately, I had to miss the best boat show of the year for a wedding. Even more unfortunate, after a summer of drought in Minnesota, the rain decided to come yesterday.

The Railway artwork is great! Can’t wait to see it in person someday. Looking at the shot of the cruisers in the marina brings back a joke heard years ago… Regarding the Chris Commander with the skiff on top – “How do you get the dinghy off?” “Sink the boat.” 😉

I agree with the gangs comments on your hand lettering Matt. You really have nailed it. New career? All my years in advertising agencies and my dear Dad always thought I was some kind of highly paid sign writer. The signs look great. Love the boat caught in the ice ad. That image would have stopped you for sure.
