It’s October, It’s Friday, And It’s Sausage, And I Need Help..Center?

Litter Babes? That lady is throwing her coffee out in the water? Beer? Soda? Either way Iron Eyes Cody would shed a tear for sure..

The fall colors are starting to come out here in Virginia. Dang nabbit it happens fast. Summers seem to just fly by. Like green eyed horsefly by. I am still using my Last Car Free Day as the last gasp for 2021, but who knows. We may have an Indian Summer. A reference used to describe a warm series of days in areas that were inhabited by Native American Indians.

Okay, here is the deal on old Iron Eyes, he was not an Indian, he was an Italian American. Not an American Indian or not even the outsourced Call Center Indians, who live in a perpetual hell. It’s summer all year on those calls. Oddly enough, I feel sorry for anyone that has to be on a service phone line. Both callers and helpers.

Picking up big litter on the highway.

But I digress, as old people do, complaining about health care and the kids down the street who keep having fun. GET OFF MY LAWN. BTW, In my neighborhood its the dogs down the street that come around and start a barking fest with MR B. WOW, is this story just flopping all over the place? I can’t control it. It’s like the steering cable is broken, or there is a full running hose left unattended.

Her name HAS to be Martha.. and thats Bob, and Bill, and Bills Mistress Tammy from the secretary pool. Martha is trying to be nice, she never thought Bill’s wife was very nice. She gets angry when drinking to much Gin, which she has for breakfast, so in a way she is happy Bill is getting some “Secretarial help”..

All that sickness inside of me must have dislodged whatever focus I had? And for gods sake.. WHY ARE YOU STILL EVEN READING THIS CRAP? Just look at the dumb post cards I found on ebay. And thank your genetic makeup that you don’t live in a flappy thought universe like I do. Oh. wait.. You do. Hello my name is BOB, can I help you? Press 1 if……

I gotta go put the boat in? Or Out?

Which reminds me I need some interior work done on WECATCHEM.

And just go post carding

Sorry, is that really perfect?

THATS PERFECT

Not so perfect.. Actually looks depressing

I am gonna go back to bed now. My meds are stating to kick in.. mmmmmmmm HAPPY TIME..

Cool pictures Matt. I especially liked the tow truck. It looks like a 58 GMC. A long time ago I I drove a tow truck like that. The one I drove was a 63 Chevrolet, but it was set up much the same. Yes I had the front wheels off the ground a couple of times. I wish I had a picture of it. Also liked the fisherman, and the small wood fishing boats.

That wagon being towed out of the weeds reminds me of my Octoberfest campout about 44 years ago which involved my girlfriend at the time headed to Helen Georgia, an Alpine themed town where we went to celebrate with other single friends on a church outing camping out in the north Georgia mountains near the Appalachian Trail. Being thrifty, I brought my own keg of beer in an iced down in a tub tucked away in the back of my VW van. After a long afternoon of “hydrating” we headed 9 miles up gravel mountain roads to our primitive campsite. At mile 8 1/2, driving like AJ Foyt, I clipped the apex of a turn a little too close and rolled off the mountain. Luckily, a VW van is so light, it only rolled over once and stopped a couple of hundred yards down the mountain in a grove of saplings. My poor friend in the back with the keg got really dinged up and soaked with keg water and ice but okay none the less. My girlfriend on the other hand was a little freaked out as women do get. Getting a ride down to the nearest town we found a tow truck and driver who, when he got to the site said where is this van. I said down there in that clump of small trees where you could barely see it except for the glint of sunlight off the front windshield. After dragging his tow line and several lengths of rope down the mountain, I attached it to the van and he winched it out. It started right up and I drove the rest of the way to the campsite. When word got back to the Lutheran Church we belonged to there were some condescending looks from members but they’re pretty liberal and didn’t excommunicate us. My girlfriend was not too fond of riding in that van and chose to ride on the back of my motorcycle as a safer alternative lol. Cheers to a festive Octoberfest – don’t drink and drive. Sometimes I wonder how I survived those years as a twenty something.

Briant, I think I could spend an afternoon or two going through that book and studying those plans. Nice find!

Hi Greg, I found the book at a flea market on the coast. I spent $25 after bartering with a nice German woman. I figured someone in the WB community might want it so I took a chance and just bought it. You can have it for $30 to pay for the book and shipping if you want it. It is pretty cool esp if someone actually had built one and wanted to frame the plans etc.

The Motor Boating plans book you really want is number VII.

About 75% of the plans are John Hacker’s. Including the Miss APBA plans. Which is why so many of those have been built.

That volume is the hardest one to find.

That header pic was taken just west of Revelstoke, BC, about 60 miles as the crow flies from my cabin. Town name in the door gives it away. Looks like Trans Canada highway, opened in 1962 or so.

Is that the same book that has the 225 hydro “Zipper” in it. I’ve just built my own version of it. Stretched it to 25 foot and added some beam for a 4 place.
