Time capsule Barn Find, and patina.

She does her own sewing, cooks like a master chef, and will always be faithful. Three things that over time you knew would blind date code for butterface. Hey, don’t judge me here, I am just saying what we all knew. Hold on.. But, we all learned that actually that the partner we all really love, loved, miss, or wish we had, had all these qualities. After all, have you looked in the mirror lately? Yup.. Maybe you meet all those clichés as well.

Put the tarp back on please

And so is the case with this barn, warehouse jewel listed on ebay, and at Freedom Boat Service. Maybe the same, just using ebay to get some attention. And it did. Rare? Yes, Time capsule? Yes, Ugly? Well.. Look in the mirror, and think hard. This Cruiser is perfect for areas that are kinda rainy, cold, and all the other stuff that makes boating kinda sucky.

Oh wait. WOW

Oh momma mia

Good lord.

And don’t think of her as a Cruiser, but more of a houseboat. Love shack on the water, maybe a taxi? Own an Inn on a lake? This is a fantastic tour boat? When a boat like this is used in the proper way she becomes stunning, sexy and deeply loved. Cocktail Cruises on cold days? We have all owned cars, trucks and other stuff like this. Ugly at first, and yet cried like a baby when it was time to let go.

LOVE! Paint that top Eggshell Blue..

So. Miss Butterface is actually Miss, Miss.. Click Here on Ebay. Or here at Freedom Boat Service.

Having never seen one of these I was wondering if it was a modification, but BAM right there in the bible. Only 32 built, and even a Bull Nose! LOVE IT!!

Dave you crack me up “Priced at $19,995.00 or FREE with Freedom restoration, …”.

That is a lot of boat for the money. Since I grew up on a CC sedan I can appreciate the comfort these cruisers can provide. A little surprised that Dave has put it on Ebay.

Ultra rare…unique in fact…I went to the bible like Troy BUT…ugly duckling for sure. Buy it an Go Boating! price is right.

“Butterface” is a terrible term to hang on someone, even a boat because of the connotation it invokes.

That said; when I was young, single, stupid and lacked the sensitivity that I now possess, we would call this situation a two-bagger. One for over her head and one over yours.

Defiantly an interesting boat. It looks like it would be better suited for northern climates. You guys all know how much I love wooden cruisers. Once again I will have to resist.

Exactly right “perfect for areas that are kinda rainy, cold, and all the other stuff that makes boating kinda sucky.” And good for extending the boating season…but that transom is really butt ugly.

Not seeing this as “ugly”! Just needs some color on the roof &/or hull sides. Looks like a very practical, useful, enjoyable boat. Shame that there’s not room for it in our life, garage & budget.

  8. Floydrturbo

That’s the same hull as the 33 foot ‘59-‘60 Sports Fisherman/Sports Cruiser, one of the coolest late 50’s boat Chris Craft built. It’s got the same forward windshield frame/glass so convert the rest of the cabin and voila, you’ve turned her into Cinderella.

      Floyd:
That sports cruiser lacks the Bull Nose that helps make Loreley special.

I too think she would make a very useful cruising boat.

I think a color change could make this boat turn heads. Looking back to “Black Fridays” post, if you did this up in a black or navy blue, I think it could give it a whole new look and attitude.

Spotted this boat on Ebay over the weekend, bids started at 5k, if its as good as they say I think it’s well worth the 20k.But of course thats the easy part. The real expense is where to store, where to moor.Definitely a worthy project for the right guy, alot of fun to be had.
