I Promise, This Is The Last Gate Story Of The Year.

Come on in

Yes, I have milked the entire Gate Debate Story to Butter. Or worse, Cheese, Yogurt. But hey! It’s my site and so.. And this dive into my pea brain has been a fun journey for me, considering it is an open field of ideas. I keep saying to myself, ” Just because you can, doesnt mean you should”. The gate is PART of the railway and shouldn’t be to much of a celebrity. There is a Russian proverb I always have twirling around in my head. “The tallest blade of grass is the first to be cut by the scythe.”  It always scares me to no end, each time I stick my head up, or in this case, design one item to stand out that should be part of a harmony, team etc.

“It’s all here, but not all there”. Words to live by

Metal roofing used to cover wood piles and small brass rub rails as details

An old air scoop found in a pile. Not cleaned, just put on to create a more 3 dimensional and intentional look.

The handle is an old cleat found in a pile. PERFECT, and completes the Vibe, including the old brass screws.

And Bam. Like Peas and Carrots.

And with that said, the design of the gate as PART of the town, the railway had to be thought of. The simple observation also inspired this thought. mmmmmm, The town is not just people and houses.. Its also made up of our 4 legged friends. Especially the ones that use one of those legs to relieve them selves on the fence. So?

Oh ya, Mr B approved

Mr B, approved. But? What about his pals?

For THE BOYS in the hood.

Buster loves this post

As time goes on, we will gather all the BOYS in towns names and give them a post. And yes, the font is WoodyBoater Bold and part of the design system. AHHHHHHHHHHH

Zip definitely needs his own post, I mean where will he go after all of the martinis at the Christmas party?

Looks great. The air scoop is very similar to a Hacker. Next is to make a welcome mat from different makers step pads

Matt, can you please align the flathead screw slots – either vertical or horizontal, your choice. The lack of symmetry is killing me.

I was going to say: It is sad when what jumps out at me is that the screws are not lined up in either the flat head or Philips screws (Oh wait those might be R&Ps).

On another note I was taught that flat head screws should be vertical to let the water drain. (don’t know if it really makes a difference)

PS: “I Promise, This Is The Last Gate Story Of The Year.”

Does this mean that tomorrow will be the “First Gate Story Of The Year”?

…this gate story went on longer than Watergate….which all of us, being old, remember all too well.
Does all this make Reedville a “gated community” now?
Save a piss post for me. Happy, Let’s Go Boating, New Year!

Look at this story as a “gateway “ to the New Year. I do like the idea of a piss pole. I think that Mr B would agree. Have a good New Year everyone. Be safe tonite. Not that any of us are going to get out and get wild. Enjoy 🎶🍻

Looks good, less is more sometimes. Understated compared to some of the other designs.
Angus would like to come by and check out a post also.

It’s not over yet….What about a low voltage light in the vent? Or turn it over like a comment above and put a flower in it! A red rose to match the ‘Woody Boater logo?
