Wonderful inspiration for future T shirt art

Okay, the entire story is in the headline today. For the record, there is Art, as in painted, printed and whatever form of medium used, and Art Armstrong, who is an art form in himself. Today we are talking about art found in places other than an art gallery. This does make sense, its just a very long winded route to some pictures with captions.

Amazing can art. TROY, not art of a can, this is can art. Not that Arts Can isnt true art.

A previous header of some very cool art on a truck

This truck showed up on Facebook market place. WOW.

Amamzing graphics

AHHHH, look at those 7’s Thats hand work at its best ever

Look at the rear fender. That little touch of white. Literally a stroke, paint stroke of genus. WOW

Oh, okay.. Art you are THE MAN.

We all need some more local Algonac stories from ART. The one about Gar Wood yelling at him is THE BEST!  Here it is from the comment section. BTW, the comment section is the best part of Woody Boater! It goes where it wants to go. And the occasional boobage!

“As Greg said, he was known around Algonac as The Silver Fox and I had the pleasure of meeting him when I was a minnow in the mid-50s…..well sort of a pleasure.
His original shop (where he built most if the Miss Americas) was directly across the river from our cottage. I was about 10 and would take my CC Kit boat and go over and beach it so I could climb on the crates that were stacked on the back of the property. I didn’t know at the time what they were, much later learned that they were Allusion engines in big crates, hundreds of them. I only went there when I didn’t think anybody was there. Well one time this tall skinny old man came out and told me to get off his crates, which I did. Young and dumb, I went back a few weeks later, after I ‘cased’ the place first, I got back on the crates. Well guess who came out of shop, again!! This time he was going to teach me a lesson and made me swab the decks of his yacht, which was docked out front. The yacht was 12×70 and it took me awhile, but when I was done he gave me a lecture and a $10 bill. That’s my story of Garwoodthesilverfox!!!”

I have some bad news Matt. There is no brush of white paint on the rear fender. It’s just dust reflecting the light. To quote Jeremy Clarkson, “And on that terrible disappointment…”

Good observation “M”. Not to hijack this thread but those three on Top Gear were the intellectual Mo, Larry, and Curly of the automobile world. BBC must have had one helluva a budget for that show.

I love that on the gas can it pictures 4 great recreational activities, snow mobiling, boating, off-road dune buggy, and plowing snow! When I was a kid, my dad had an old simplicity mower and whenever we had a good snow we would put on the plow and do everyone’s driveway down the street! Good times, good times!

Past times, advertising art made you stop, read and think about a message.
These days, you’re spoon fed what they want you to think. Hhhmmmmmm……………

Do you suppose that 50 years from now some nut job will be talking about the art and fonts of our current advertising?

The art and design of that tow truck chassis is amazing in itself. The sweep of the boom and the curvature of the tailgate is almost eligant considering it could have been just squared off. Maybe art deco inspiration, even the vertical view shows the delicate tapering down to the tip with proper spaced and tapered support bracing. Should be in industrial design museum.
