A Sleep Live-ish From Florida

South Carolina

One thing about a hail mary run. The last couple hours are the hell. But the feeling of any bed is pure heaven. But waking up is a bitch. Where am I, what am I doing? A new routine.. And I want to just sleep. Which is why normally I would stop someplace when tired and just take my time. But for whatever dumb ass reason, we powered through.

So. We are here, and its cloudy as if some cruel joke to remind me that I should have stopped. But, we are here with no issues. Ready to get up.. okay maybe I will just go back to sleep.

Call or text when ready to set up the tent. I will be happy to help. BTW, the sky is blue over my hotel.

This band member cannot attend. Wish I could. It’s some consolation that I’m on my boat in Man ‘o War Cay, Bahamas. Some of you might be thinking “awwww, poor baby.” But note that I’m homeschooling a 14 year old. Not an easy task.

It might interest WB readers to learn that Man ‘o War is the historic heart of Bahamian-built boats, the most famous maker being Albury Brothers. After Hurricane Dorian in 2019, much changed. But Albury still exists here, though making glass boats these days. They are superbly built with elegant, timeless lines, and I desperately (!) want one. Which means I better get the hull away from here pronto.

Here’s a pic of a classic Albury boat, though center consoles are their main builds these days.

And here’s more info on the heritage here.

This is a test if it had been an actual emergency you would’ve been instructed to bend over and kiss your ass goodbye. In the meantime, maybe this will wake you up. She’s waiting for a Woody boat ride

I witnessed a bunch of Woody Boater wannabes in a Clorox bottle followed by real Woody Boaters in a Sea Skiff late afternoon on the Dora Canal just as the rain was starting. Sad to say our fearless leader was in the Tupperware thing! I shouldn’t judge I was on my pontoon boat at the time.
Had it not been raining I would have taken a picture as proof.

Matt will always make the personal sacrifice to give up a woody boat ride so that he can be in the right place to take pictures of the wood boat for us.
