Keels & Wheels Has An Award No One Wants To Ever Win… And Yet

Embrace it Dan!

Fellow Woody Boater Dan Diehl.  Overall best of show Keel and Wheels. 1959 Riva Ariston.  Which is a huge deal..Diehl… And of course one would want to display this proudly. Maybe in the family room? Bed Room? Garage? Storage bin in the basement. Not me. I would build a massive display. Wait… No.. I would build a new bathroom for it. Maybe a glass wall in the shower.. With only cold water. No hot water.

Oh! Dear!

The look on Addie’s face says it all. Oh.. Don.. Why cant you win an award like that.

At first when Marty sent this too me late last night. I thought.. Okay a table shot of people at the rubber chicken dinner.. But .. I woke up this morning… and looked at it more closely.. And this has to be at every boat show. I mean everyone of them. Cause I want to win this award. So.. Congrats Dan, and well. Make the most of it. Remember its not the size of your trophy that counts.

Addie’s expressions just crack me up. She wants to be sitting at the Larger Woodie table!

That’s probably the real reason John Deere perfected the plow. He just got old!

Speaking of small woodies, I couldn’t wait any longer for the ice to leave our chain of lakes. Went for a sauna / swim yesterday and guess what? I think that I must have won the Whitefish Chain Smaller Woodie award – I think…….

Yes, inelegantly named perhaps, but a well deserved award. Our first visit to this show. Those who haven’t been should put it on their list. Lovely Texas hospitality at a great facility. Many of the usual suspects in attendance. Lots of cool cars, too.

This is a very small Woodie Boat; 11 foot Glen-L Squirt. Designed in 1954, built in 2012. About 40 mph.
