BOAT SLIDE SHOW!

Barb and Carol are so ready to go boating. Steve and Jim just keep taking pictures. Barb of course is more vocal, while Carol is secretly planning her divorce.

Today, mid week, we have a boat show! Yup, a good old vintage virtual show. Old school. The way they used to do it before zoom and the internet. A dark room and some beer and memories. Honestly I never understood why slides. You would look at them once and put them back in the case. Then again.. There is “The Carousel” Oh ya. Marketing.

The slide was life before iphone videos, images to tell a story. And the best part of slides, is they are crisp time stoppers.

Dino shows of his new boat in Jersey someplace

Hey! move that camera over

Dino taking the girls out, Tammy Sue and Tootsie. Thats Tootsi’s boy friend chasing them on the dock. Binny G, who later in life was bought doing things to odometers and well. Became the largest car dealer in Jersey City.

Walter got his new Chris Craft and is very happy about it. And a new hair cut.

Walter loved that darn boat.

Meanwhile in MC, Milton and Little Milty went out for an adventure.

And in Florida, Jenny got some water skiing lessons from Pablo. 10 minutes after this photo was taken Pablo and Jenny disappeared into the Everglades. They had a torrid love affair and Jennys husband was crushed. Since it was their honeymoon. Life can be so cruel. The jokes on Jenny though. Turns out Pablo was from Columbia and got a little caught up in the Export business, and Jenny was chopped up and parts of her were hung from the bridges along the highways in Medellin. WOW.. That went a tad dark. Okay like blackout dark.

Carol is looking at the water like “there’s no way in hell I’m risking my hair in that cesspool”

Im always amazed and entertained by your captions. Like a “wish I would have thought of that one “, or “did he really say that”.. , or “now thats funny” I guess twisted minds think alike…. WoodyBoater never ceases to entertain,,,,, maybe the Railway will be a good venue to try out your standup routine!…

“two boats walk into a bar….”

Binny! Yeah! I bought my last car from him! Only had 8000 miles on it! But the tires were worn out, so he gave me $25 off! Huh! Such a deal!

Believe it or not but I had my hands on a carousel and projector exactly like the one in the video, just a few days ago, while cleaning out the attic.

Matt this subject begs the question, how do you transfer 35MM slides on to the computer?
Also what app /program do you use for your photo’s ?

Art, I’m sure Matt has a high tech program for transferring 35 mm slides to computer. But what works for me is, setting up the screen, put the slide up, focus the slide the best you can. I then take a picture of the slide on the screen with my iphone 11. It then goes to I cloud. It works for me.

I bought a slide copier years ago. Wolverine 4 in 1 copier. Not sure if they are still available. Simple to use but quality of the copy is marginal. But at least you have a digital copy.

I love that story from madmen, I hadn’t seen it before. As always, great photos and even better captions!

It would be great to find a place to store images like that sorted by boat make and model. What a great reference resource!
