Classic Boat Gatherings This Weekend.

Will the Dancing Cobras will be performing?

In my obsession with the 100 year celebration in Algonac, I have failed to talk about some other classic…well, classic boat shows happening soon. St Micheals, and lake Hopatcong. Both this weekend, June 18th 2022. I do recall one year doing both shows in one day. YIKES. I was able to walk through both shows for about 30 minutes and then drive, drive drive.

St Micheals is an amazing show and this year is featuring boats built on the Chesapeake bay.

The Babes are a little stiff though.

The good news is this year we have some correspondents on the ground, and will be able to report from the events. And if you are so inclined, and close enough to make at least one of these shows. You should. The fresh air and varnish will do you some good.

The Yacht Club on Lake Hopatcong is an amazing setting.

As always I am missing some other events, so please excuse me for not knowing. But in the comment section fell free to plug away. Shamelessly. Think Boat The Blue! Oh, and dont panic if your comment is not live right away if you have a link in it, that causes it to be screened.

If any of you Woody Boaters find yourselves in northern Minnesota on Saturday, we are hosting the 35th annual Whitefish Chain Classic Boat show at The Fabulous Moonlite Bay on Cross Lake. We have a 1925 Brian Robbins registered – what the heck is that?? We have at least 20 boats that have never been to the show – WOW! Please stop and say hello.

      B. T.Don’t you mean a 1925 Brian Robinson….just kidding. I’m sure Brian’s glad he’s not that old either.. hope you have a real good turnout at the show.

I’ve been to shows at both St. Michaels (great show and fantastic friendly town) and Lake Hopatcong (another great show and oh what a clubhouse). Both should be on people’s short list. Of course that Algonac was worth the trip goes without saying. So many shows to choose from.

The boat is possibly a Brainard Robbins. He built boats at Fishers Landing at what is now Duane Chalk’s marina.

I’ll be at Hopatcong Saturday, the show looks to be a little lite on boats this year. Seth Katz’s entries are always a big draw though.
