A Cold And Windy Lake Hopatcong Show

The Black Katz Cobra rumbling through the cold

Bob Kays reports in from Lake Hopatcong from this weekends classic boat show. If you live in the Mid Atlantic area you no doubt know it was a very windy weekend. Like WINDY, and cold..ish for June. We did get some reports in regarding the Black Cobra ripping up the lake with blistering speed. The engine got dialed in correctly and did not disappoint.

“A great show put together by club President Jackie Loughridgeand show chair Ray Reynolds and the entire Lake Hopatcong team. Probably the coldest show since we started in 1974 and definitely the windiest!”

It’s tough when the weather doesn’t cooperate, but it looks like they made the best of it. Really diverse group of beautiful boats.

Does the wooden tower in the header photo serve some practical purpose, is it the starting line for races???

    Great photos

That is the judge’s tower at the LH Yacht Club. Used during sailing races and many years ago for mahogany boat races.
