Summer Sausage Saturday

,

This vintage slide cracked me up. And maybe a B pillar!

I am clearing out some of the tid bits of potential stories today. The lips and snouts of stuff that on its own would not make a great story, and yet, all mashed up together make a yummy treat of comment fodder. And of course your comments today can be as equally unrelated to anything.

Love me some dealer matchbooks. Love the slogans. Go Sporty for 40! Dam, lines like these are made fun of now. But are brilliant and stand the test of time. In fact if a line can work on a matchbook, its perfect.

Its Bimini Time! This could be an entire story. Just need more top shots. And yes I look grumpy

Grass coming up on BOAT HILL Memorial Gardens

I started working on a poster from dock shots. But it just kinda hangs there.

I am collecting strange abstract images. I call this ? I have no idea yet

Dealership in New Orleans.. Yes looked it up and its now a party rental place. And all the cool curves are gone.

The wall is starting to become a shrine to things that wont start again

Arts Johnson is on display. Enough said.

Still life

And one more veiw

And yes, that is one bad ass Troll Master on Arts Johnson.

Jimmy has the WoodyBoaterMobile all fixed up from its trip. More on that, I am not alone.

Remember the story on the Black Label Babe. I think we found her new dream date! STORY HERE

Black Label Guy totally over achieved! And Black Label Babe must have lost some contest in hell!

    Nuff said.

Love the other pics. BTW, I would have done a full week on the cool, simple outboard stands that will be forever holding Art’s Johnson.

Well I see that you trimmed my bush or is it brush.

I only let female stands hold my Johnson!!!

The Black Label gal deserves better than that Black Label geek but he does have a covered cabin. So no Higgins storefronts in downtown New Orleans?

Fun informal boat show today followed by a nice cruise around Devils Lake in the Irish Hills. Thanks to the Devils Lake Michigan Antique Boat Club for hosting a great event!

That white door just doesn’t go with the rest of the railway. I’ve got a tidy collection of varnished vintage doors at my cabin in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin. If you’re up for a little road trip you can help yourself.

Matt you seem to have an interest in Cobra 003, this is the third time you have a picture of it in your posts.

I purchased a 40 HP Evinrude from Higgins Marine in New Orleans on City Park Avenue close to the Museum of Art. I think it cost maybe $250 but can’t remember exactly in 1958. Had to bring it home in a Volkswagen Beetle with the front seat removed so I could lay the motor down. Had to take it back to Gulfport, Miss. where I lived. It installed it on a 12′ Lyman cedar strip boat with two cockpits that someone gave me and had to fiberglass the bottom to keep it from leaking.
The top was varnished. Those were the days. Made our own water skis and had a ball.
