John just wants to go boating!

Today is John Rothert Day. We have to find out about his surgery in the comment section yesterday! WTH?  So we get to beat him up while he’s down. Hey, thats what we do. Knee surgery I think, well overdue since he has been bitching about it forever. And this is hands down the best time of the year to go boating here. So, maybe we can all invite him to go Boating today! Torture!

John likes to sit.

He can make a rainy day fun

Out and about in chilly weather

One of my favorite boat show pics. Rainy day Blues. Not a fair weather friend. He is the real deal.

Is this the way to the drinks? Art was not the first. Just say’n!

Hang in there John, my boat is out of the water so I can’t go woody boating for you. But you will be “gone boating” soon!

I can’t believe you didn’t include a pic of John’s beautiful cruiser in your story. You could still ad one. Get well soon and “go boating” John.

    John,
Was looking forward to seeing you at the Reedville Show next week. Guess that wont happen. This will, for sure affect your “Going Boating” so I wish you a speedy rehab. I blew out my knee (MCL) on 4th of July and its been a major impediment to to daily activities since then … Climbing in an out of a boat? Nah…
This is just a reminder as to how we are all just one injury away from NOT being able to enjoy this passion of ours…..

Get well soon, and “enjoy” the PT. PS… Those ice machines are a God send…., used one after a couple of rotator cuff surgeries and kept me from becoming addicted to the opioids .

Let me know if I can do anything for you.

John, you are now a couple of days on the mend. You have the worst part behind you. Stay strong my friend. Get better every day. If everything goes according to plan, I’m going woody boating today!👍😎 I will be thinking of you.

    John:

They replace knees in boats, I’ve replaced the stem knee in mine (but I’m no doctor). So getting yours rebuilt is in line with our hobby. Best of luck on a speedy recovery!

Many thanks my Woodyboater friends for all the kind words.
My right knee shows in several of the pics Matt rounded up from over the decades…and believe me it looks nothing like that good today. I am only 11 days since the cutting, like all of us, I always have unrealistic expectations for things..especially boats…but I will soon be “Agile, Mobile, and less Hostile”.
Bethany is taking great guy of me.
Go Boating for me this beautiful day.

Hey, we should play Whatizit with John’s new knee bones.

Carbon fiber? Titanium? Recycled laundry tubs?

And is the new part glued to the existing bones with 5200 or do they use those damn Prince screws?
