The Yip Yap Smack , It’s All The Rage At HQ.

Something is not right here? mmmmmm, I dont think its supposed to do that?

Like I always say, if you have a disaster, don’t cry, take pictures. I am not sure if I am all there, since when this happened, all I did was laugh. Then cursed, and then, click, click, click. Thats what doing Woody Boater is like now. All I saw was a story. Content. Beautiful disaster click bait content.

Cool photo though

Of course all this happened before Wayne Bomb and others showed up. And yes, I knew as they did, it would just be one more day starting at Global HQ with a big fat “What Now”smacking you in the face.

mmmm, Steve King ponders with his morning drink.

So? You ask? How did this happen? Well, simple. The gear on the crank broke. Which makes me feel better, since my trailering this year has not been all that stellar. OH! I am sure I am to blame in some way, after all I have been married over 35 years, so I am not sure I even feel blame anymore.

Posing with the kill. I swear we are all still 12 year olds. And happy for that.

The Yip Yap Smack!

On top of the gear breaking, it was full of water, which I had drained some of while it was level.

Back in her spot in the barn

new crank

So? you ask more? Was anything damaged? No. It all happened in slow motion, and kinda was a fun morning exercise. And for those of you COVID aware, I am on my 11th day, and out of the woods, and was still wearing my mask and staying clear of them. I will add, it was humid as hell, and the mask, sweat and all that was a tad much. But all good, and Wayne took the trailer to his Air Conditioned space and repaired the trailer. I was relegated to more Zoom calls.. Another marathon of this and that, and more that, and….. so it goes.

I call this, The Yip Yap Smack in Black and White

NOTE: No boats or ego’s were injured during the filming.

Glad there wasn’t any damage. Thanks for showing us what can happen without a safety chain….now have Wayne install a safety chain.

To own a boat means that there is a high probability that something unexpected will happen that will be an “Oh Sh-T” moment. Owning a classic or antique boat pretty much guarantees this occurrence. When that happens all you can do is accept it as part of the experience, grab your tools and tell the wife that you “have to work on the boat” as she rolls her eyes.

Good to hear no damage. Time for some tie downs/safety chain. How does one get the boat off the ground & back up onto the trailer?

When I parked the boat in the dark I did not try to back into the garage. Next morning I saw space between keel and trailer. Not supposed to be there. Main trailer member rusted through bottom and sides hanging on at top of tube. Luckily I am only a mile from the launch. If it came apart the boat and back of trailer would have been completely loose riding other bow stem. Glad I don’t have pictures of that. Now remove trailer where it sits.

Glad to hear there was np damage. I guess I have been lucky. I have never had a gear or the latch break on a trailer. Sh!t happens.

Well at least you know your bilge pump works. Sorry to hear about your mishap. Glad nothing was damaged. Glad your feeling better also.

Tough little boats those Whirlwinds! … a relatively “soft” landing on the gravel rather than on the road…and being a light boat probably wasnt too hard to get back on trailer . Yip Yap has had a tough life but keeps on .
We take lots of precautions when undertaking long trips…. its the short boat yard-around the corner ones that ding us! Damn MURPHY ! Glad it was just story fodder and not a worse outcome.

    Gear breaks.

Which is why I have a second tie down strap at the bow and two at the stern. One breaks, ya got the added security.

Glad there was no slo mo damage here !

Sorry to see Yip Yap on the ground!
Glad no one or thing was hurt during this shooting.

So you consider the 2nd as the day that we got infected. I was not feeling 💩y until the 6th and that is when I tested and was positive.

I don’t know the incubation period so I guess we could be on day 11 not day 8.
