From Fairest Creatures From Wofeburo We Desire Increase

A huge thanks to fellow Woody Boater Gary Michael from Inland Boat Works for sending us in a couple snap shots from the Wolfeboro show this past weekend And a note. It’s deep so you may want to pull out your thesaurus and polish up on your understanding of Elizabethan English literature from the 16th Century.. or was it in the early 17th Century.. Although Garys tone is more late 16th. A softer more verbose style. But he did not include captions, so maybe it’s a tad more on the Jacobean side.. More to the point..  Are the must ready? And I quote..
“Matt- A few pictures of our late Boat and Car show 9/22 non judged. Our judged show is in July same location Wolfeboro town docks.” Gary – Yup, thats it, not much…. so I got William Shakespeare to write them in a Sonnet. I like his spelling.

From fairest creatures we desire increase,

That thereby beauty’s rose might never die,

But as the riper should by time decrease,

His tender heir mught bear his memeory:

But thou, contracted to thine own bright eyes,

Feed’st thy light’st flame with self-substantial fuel,

Making a famine where abundance lies,

Thyself thy foe, to thy sweet self too cruel.

Thou that art now the world’s fresh ornament

And only herald to the gaudy spring,

Within thine own bud buriest thy content

And, tender churl, makest waste in niggarding.

Pity the world, or else this glutton be,

To eat the world’s due, by the grave and thee.

A huge thanks to William and Gary for making the day a little richer.

    Beautiful pics!

Not to an ass nor anything so quaint, but did thou notice of thast image with our fairest of MGs and of the American might, that there was a spew of water venom from nearest only and none from the British aire.

(Translation….the American was leaking crap and not the always much maligned MGs.)

    Just sayeth.

HEY HEY HEY. Lemme put it this way.

The reason that MGs and other British cars here in the States suffered leaks and non starts etc was and is due to the cheap ass Americans not ordering up a correct part but rather running down to their local auto parts outlet and finding and then using some bodged up BS part. My current MG has never once not started nor let me stranded on the roadside, since I purchased her in 2003 and having done over 80,000 miles. BECAUSE I USE THE CORRECT PARTS. She still sports her original gearbox with over 185,000 miles. Three of my Ford products of recent years cannot even make their crap transmissions last until 100,000 miles.

More….I bought one MGB that the jackass American owner had rewired up the headlights with CAR STEREO SPEAKER WIRE fer chrissakes. Two other MGs had NEVER had the points replaced.

So laugh it up with all your “the Brits drink warm beer because they all have Lucas refrigerators” and the “Prince of Darkness” stuff but in all honesty, it is just, and to quote Uncle Bill Shakes, it is all just “shear buffoonery and reflects darkness upon the pleeb uttering the words.”

Man you guys must have paid more attention in High School English than I did. I was focused more on Wood Shop. When I saw the header. even before I read it . I thought That is Wolfeboro! And it was! I was at Lake Winnepesaukee a few years ago in the fall. While there We visited Wolfeboro. We saw a few wooden boats, but not William Shakeespeare. Thanks Gary for sharing.
