Today we discuss the white sliding door

Maybe that was a tad harsh. Lets talk door color. Yes, I tried to avoid this conversation because I did not want to come of as to obsessive about color and design theory. I mean it’s not its like a Zipper handle or a gate? Right? So, for those of you wondering what in the hell I am talking about. Over the past weeks of obsessive color and paint details on Sweet Pea the discussion of the color of the sliding door has come up. And 100% agree with all the frustration. BUT, I am at a stage now that , that choice needs to be made. SO! Here are the options and the reason I kept it white. But if the citizens of Woodyboaterville vote for something else, I shall comply. Unless the Boatress vetos it all. YA.. So Here goes, and Maybe, just maybe Art will be shut up! BWTHDIK. ART!!!!!!!!

This is the Door as Art would like to see. Two tone, using the hand rail as the border.

Here it is all one color to define it

Here is a wood option. This is a traditional look and many trawlers have this. It divides up the space. And introduces some wood.

The roof color

The hull color

And back to white. Why did I choose white..for now. Because it breaks up the space like a front door on your house. I agree its not perfect. But? Now its your hell! ART!

I’d like to see it green on the bottom half with wood on top. However it turns out, it’s a great looking boat!

Agreed. The two tone door best fits with what is goin on with a the everything else. You don’t want it to distract from the rest and the two tone does not do that. Great choice.

I was going to agree with Art, but I like the fact that rjtipple has come up with an option that you did not present. I think that would probably look really sharp.

Maybe get back on Photoshop and let’s see what it looks like with green on the bottom and varnish on the top.

Definitely green bottom, white top. Love keeping the continuity of color down the side.

I also agree with Art but your last choice with wood /varnish on top looks good also……2nd choice. The green on the bottom just makes it look so cohesive.

If two toned, does the break line up correctly when it’s open?
I imagine it’s open more than closed?

I like Art’s idea, green lower, white upper. There’s a lot of uncertainty these days, but this one I’m sure about. Mostly……

So far I count 20 for Art’s green bottom and most with with white upper……….I win, stick that in your pie hole!
And I want to thank all of my supporters and I love you all very much and your checks are in the mail.

    Art wins…….again!!!😎

no no no. The bottom of the door needs to be green. the top of the door, ie the window and surrounds, needs to be redone to match the other windows.

Why is the door a reverse of the windows? The windows are “glass, then white paint then wood”, but the door is “glass, wood, then white paint”.

Glad we go that figured out. I will send you an invoice for my fee.

    Oh, Hey a question.

In the header photo, with that glorious piece of Pre-Columbian Art in the foreground, is that baby tethered to the ground in any way? I mean, what will happen when you get those crazy tides that we have seen photos of? Will it not just float away? Sort of?

    Idle hands ask many questions.

As I piped in yesterday, I suggested green on the bottom and white on top.
The top in wood is nice except when the door is open, on my boat which is usually most of the time while underway.
    Thanks for the Photoshop work!
