Global HQ Updates. Yea Yea, I Know.

,

Lots of small details are done!

We interrupt yesterdays interruption to get back to the updates at the Railway and possibly a Mr B photo. Get this? I got private comments wanting more Mr B? So, there ya go, different strokes for different folks. We do have more Indian lake stuff. Hell, I could make a Woody Boater office on Indian lake. Like maybe a Sons Of Varnish Chapter?  And I pity all of you when it gets to show time up there.

Here ya go! Mr B on his perch.

The new shelfs are done, everything is sealed and the heat is amazing.

Dang, I have so many hats from shows and gifts. And now they have a home

I have had this old light since I was a kid, it belonged to my Grandfather on my Moms side.

Sometimes just sitting with music going is the best medicine. Right Mr B. Note, also all the metal panels are done

A new old Stereo is in here now. Bose Speakers, and subwoofer is Onkio, and a old home theatre system.

Also a better home for many of the old paint cans.. I love these. Lots of hope in a can

Okay, now its getting a tad out of hand, I have added a bit of bling to some of the boat details. And yes, the screws are wrong!

The Drill Press has been cleaned up..ish and placed on a new old table. Today its gonna be 60 here, so I will repair the electrical box we had to move to make this beast fit

I know, its redundant, but I love the texture of the photo and it shows the new old table.

Thanks for allowing my bloated Lactose belly take a rest.

Damn, you even painted the breaker box. A real world class man cave.

The Michigan gang is getting together in Port Huron today to build toy boats for the kids events at our shows. It will be a good time!

    Matt,
The railway looks great, but you’ve brought to mind the Toni Morrison quote, “All art is knowing when to stop”.

I have the same drill press. Different Taiwan name but I’m sure it was made in the same factory. It was free and you can’t argue free.

Matt, what is the structure on the right side of the desk?
I recognize some of the cans on the shelf and they look much better there then in my paint cupboard.

I forgot to mention, my dad had a R/R lamp very similar to your grandfathers, except he made it into a table lamp with the red and green on its own switch, My much older brother still has it.

This place is EXQUISITE! Very well done. One of the highlights to it (for me) is your lettering on the wall. This place OOZES artsy!

This place is fantastic! You could stand in any spot all day looking around at everything there and imagining the stories that could be told. Well done!

I’m just catching up on stories and I’m depressed about these forums going away. And I don’t see a wealth of information on the web like you’re talking about to make them obsolete. Nowhere I know has more info than Boat Buzz and Danenberg’s site on technical and restoration issues. Ya, I know the newbies are asking their questions on Facebook and I’ve tried to direct them to the proper sites for obvious reasons but I understand the cost issue. Its kind of beholden to us as users to help with this? I do hate the in your face advertising on other forum sites but its necessary to cover costs identified. And with this “forum” you get the “one and done” typical of a blog and we don’t get the discussion and thrashing it deserves in most cases (unless its about Thayer IV or the US Mail boat back in the day. I guess there have been other things we thrashed but not necessarily about restoration issues. I guess most of the readers are not that deep into restoration or repairs??

and further, I’m confused. You have a working railway which is outside your man cave/office. So where is the workshop the shipwrights would need for their tools and workspace? I know there’s another building but wouldn’t the closest one to the railway be the one for shop use? Ok, I guess its time for the old man to take a nap and get over it. I’m referring to myself, of course. Hate to be the Debbie downer with all these questions. Technology is taking us down the wrong road and it behooves us to straighten $hip out before we’re headed in the wrong direction and we’ve got enough of that with this countries direction. So lets turn this $hip around.

There’s a fire extinguisher in the First picture in the article in the corner to the right of the desk, and below the white Chriscraft smock

Yes it is, a wonderful Peking Chinese Wool large rug. Aprox 10×16 I think its around the 1930’s, the office is covered with old rugs to act as a sort of insulation. The boatress doesnt really like it, so it got relegated to the office. I personally love it.
