Yes I Know, But, It Is What It Is.

Okay while all of you were commenting yesterday…HOLY CRAP.. 41 Comments. ABOUT CARS! Anyway, I was putting the ceiling into Sweet Pea and popping Advil. NOW.. before you all blast me. I loved the idea Randy provided, and it made perfect sense. AND, to be honest, this is kinda a jack leg solution, since I foresee in the future, a roof change anyway, and these panels are designed to be easily removed. ALSO. There is a gap inside for air flow. AND I am going to install small round vents with screen to also allow air flow. It aint perfect. But, its clean, and well, it is what it is, as I sometimes say at work, when you have to decide on time vs perfection.

The photoshop plan.
I have harvested wood panels from the Connie that was chopped up and will be using them as panels. Also the strips are from the Connie as well. Inside of the helm behind the wheel will be a weave type texture. Thats really it.

Some of the panels. The trick on these is to match them up with color and grain. Not so easy.

Work in progress, Panels being fitted under windows, note the one behind the drill. Different color and had to be be stripped and changed color. Its subtle, but some of that CC 1960’s color stain was disgusting puke greenish in tone. Like it was a Walnut stain at the start and turned yellow, and then that made Green.

And the look I am aiming for. The color is Maynard Bray white from Kirby Paints.
Okay, back to work on the boats. Cars? Go Carts? Mini Bikes?
The vision looks great!
Maybe we will stop in next month to see how it is coming along as we cruise through Chesapeake Bay.
The mahogany panels improve the look. Big Job!
Looks fine, whole picture seems appropriate, keep at it. And Troy, stopping at Matt’s a must and dinner for us all. safe crusing.

Looks good !!
I really like the mahogany panels below the windows.
… an elegant look!
Very impressive. I like the solution using maximum width panels lining up bead lines and then adding mahogany ribs. Genius
Looks great. Don’t know how you got all that done in a day. I like your motto. Our motto is “Well, it looks better than it did.”.
Looks great ! Very classy.
And no surprise with all the folks commenting re: car posting. Old cars and old boats go well together !
