A Fellow WoodyBoater Gets Hitched!

Alex Kent takes the cake
A couple years ago at the large Gull Lake Show we met Alex Kent and his cousin. You remember, they have a very cool 25 Sportsman and a Blue Rocket. Well, looks like Alex got married this weekend, and the wedding cake! Yup, a 25 Sportsman, Dutches, which was given to Alex as the next care taker. Here are some shots of Alex and Dutches.. And the cake!

Dutches the boat – Mahogany perfection

Dutches the CAKE! Peanut Butter Explosion to be more precise.

In the family for good

Great guys! What a family.
Very cool cake but exactly what engine would fit under that unproportional engine cover? And did the baker not count the number of deck seams? That said congratulations Alex and it is a way cooler cake than I’ve ever had.
Congratulations!
Very cool! (Boats, Cake, Wedding, ……….)
Wait…..who did Alex marry?
His cousin?
Duchess?
The Blue Rocket?
The cake?…..mmmmmm peanut butter explosion
I’m confused.
He married the Wicker Sister on the left.
Come check them out while they check you in for the wood boat show in Okoboji, IA on July 29.
Good memories, as usual, from previous show up on Gull Lake in MN.
The upcoming BSLOL show up on Gull Lake at Bar Harbor this summer is going to be spectacular from what I have learned. It will have important and historic significance!
Is that a bacon layer cake? and where is the picture of the bride in the sportsman? This must be fake news!
Congrats Alex and ____________?
Peanut Butter Explosion sounds really good right about now!
Also, if Alex figured out a way to get married without having to have a wife, I am really impressed! I have to imagine that in the long run, marriage is a lot cheaper and easier when there is no wife involved.
Today’s paper says there will be no more swim suits for Miss America and this story indicates no bride for the groom…What are we coming to?
Congrats Alex. Looking forward to seeing Duchess II on Boji this summer!
Matt, Thank you for the write up and kind words! The cake was a total shock to me and had no idea of it even happening.
For the those who have asked this is my bride and now wife, Jordan. Thankfully she loves wood boating just as much as myself 😉.
Thanks again to all!
If any of you are interested please come to our show in Okoboji this year. We would love to see as many boats on the dock as possible 👍🏼

A very beautiful wedding of Alex and Jordan! I have it on good authority that Dutchess II may have fallen in to disrepair….
Anxiously awaiting confirmation on that!
Sadly we just in this photo of an abused DUTCHES! Oh boy!
Looking like the Dutchess II needs a new bottom!
Looks like the boat on “on golden pond after it it the rock”
Hurry up send it to Katz’s they will fix it.
