A New Yet Strange Perspective On Classic Boats!
One of the joys of Torch Lake was how crystal clear the water was…is… It allowed us to have some fun looking at a different side of woody boating. So Chad Matt B and I tried to have some fun looking under and behind the boat, to what it looks like to be in an exhaust pipe, or from a anchor line. Crazy? Yes? Your looking at it, so whoe’s crazy?
You asked so here it is….how it all looks from the water when your engine starts. Ya know you want to know.
And one last look.
Nice video, made me laugh as I start my day. Thanks.
For a REALLY interesting video.. mount the camera below water-level, and watch the hydro-dynamics of the boat bottom as it moves thru the water!
Not sure how you will accomplish that…since I don’t know what kind of camera you are using. But THAT will be a very enlightening video!
Eat your fiber this morning!
Mmmmmmmm forbidden doughnut.
You guys are nuts! Love the shot of the rear underwater. Ever wondered what your rear looks like under the water? Well now you know. Matt did you get those itchy things ?
Ha, I swear to god, i was fine until it was brought up. HA!
Itchy things? Hmm that needs some explaining.
its all in yesterdays comments. Eoooouch! Chad ruined my day
For any of you all itchy today, try this stuff.
Water volume from exhaust pipe of Lily seemed a little weak. Chad, you better check that impeller.
or a couple flomax pills in the tank!
Last night I dreamt that I bought a fancy new DSLR and dropped it in the lake while trying to get a shot of my boat at the waterline. Cue the Twilight Zone theme song.
Someone got a new toy and is desperately searching for uses to justify their purchase. 😀
no, those guys just have WAY too much time on their hands…
Jesus, I think I saw a polyp.
I’m embarrassed and feel somewhat violated.
Did I see Phillips screws where Reed & Prince should have been?
Nope, those are R&P.
What Fun!
Find deeper water and lets see some underwater action shots. Bet the CC step hull looks cool passing overhead.
Matt are you going to become the new official judge of all of the boat bottoms for all of the shows? What a can of worms you just opened… ..and now we are going to be judged on the sound of the exhaust from the waterline… HA!
Bet a $100 stapled to the bottom would get you a perfect score.
I’d perfer to use some 5200 in place of the staple
I think you may have been breathing too much Carbon Monoxide.
Very obviously woody boating is a time machine and these guys have gone back to when they were 10 year olds and are not coming back.
Ha – there is NO way that Matt could have had his face anywhere close to the exhaust on our Zoomer at start up – she throws out a 20 ft spray before settling down to the usual output.
Sssh! I am hoping to get Matt to film the startup on my Ski-Jet. “Just focus on the exhaust port, don’t worry about that other opening” (Turn key) “Hey where did Matt go?”
Brian T, same with my 20′ Grand Prix with the 427. Gotta check the marina dock before I turn the key.
Guess that makes us a couple of big shooters.
same here, on the Lyman. I always have to see who see on the docks behind me, so I do not trench them. AND I got the little black exhaust flappers on!
We now all know who to call when this happens….
I really hate when that happens!
Today’s photos are the WoodyBoater equivalent of “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.”
“Every now and then when your life gets complicated and the weasels start closing in, the only cure is to load up on heinous chemicals and then drive like a bastard from [Falls Church] to [Torch] … with the music at top volume and at least a pint of ether [for the boat].”
Buy the ticket, take the ride.
Dang, even the logo is squirrelly! Conclusion: I must have missed one helluva good party.
When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro……
Yeah this day deserves to go down in WB history as the day we all, got a little too honest about our hobby. Today has been one of those ” Oh wait you do that too?” or ” You think about that weird shit too?” Really funny. Thanks Matt. You have been the weirdo most of us are but we’re too tight to admit it. I’m feeling itchy…
