A Show Winning Gar Wood Comes Back Home For A Visit!
A couple weeks ago we did a story on Lake Wawasee to let folks know about the upcoming show. In one of the photos, A never seen before shot fellow Woody Boater Matt Byrne noticed his Gar Wood at the dock.
Amazing. Miss Lisa , last years big winner at the ACBS International Show, was delivered to Lake Wawasee and was one of only two delivered there. So this weekend, Matt Byrne and Chad Durren ran up to the show to take part in the show and visit Miss Lisa’s home. We decided to have some photo shop fun and put both shots together.
She seems much more colorful these days.
1939 Plymouth and a Gar Wood. Those were stylish times.
Way cool! I know Matt & Chad had a great time. To the other Matt, your photoshop skills are starting to scare me!
That is really COOL!
You motivate me to see if I can find any pictures of our Continental since it has been on the same lake her whole life.
The photo shop was very cool gave a great picture for us who are a little slow. but what i what is the wall on the header!
Remarkably, the gas price was still 10 cents/gallon.
Not sure what Matt is doing in this shot.
Something to do with gas?
Thanks chad! That is some pre boat show stretching . Ya lets go with that.
Maybe next year Matt and Chad will bring their boats to their actual birth place in Algonac/St. Clair. We would love to welcome them back home again!
Great old photo! I wonder how those pretty girls made out with those boys…5 guys that just happened to come across 5 pretty girls…What are the chances! Youth was wasted on the young back then too.
Does anybody know what model the boat that the boys are in? I am thinking it might be a CC Special runabout because its fairly small?
Steve, I recall it to be a century sea maid. I,ve lost the pic. Century sold a to. Of boats on lake wawasee over he years
