A Warm Decal Day In December

Warmer weather…for now See the decal?

Yesterday it was around 65 here in Reedville. After some Zoom calls, I ran down to HQ and just opened her up and let her breath. Nothing like fresh air and being able to be outside, a little drive in IKE with Mr B and then back to Zoom calls. Gotta make the Doughnuts!

Sometimes I just pinch myself, and say. Ouch, WTF!

Kinda clean, rebuilding a turn signal switch for IKE and about to deal with the decal

1952-53 Inspection sticker/ Note matching plate number

Mr B was not in the mood for photos. Its in there

The back

Got IKE inspected. Yup, good til 1953. . These are made by Bob Hoyte,  a great guy who makes them for all sorts of states. BTW, in the state of Virginia you can register Old Plates that match the year and do not need to inspect the vehical if you drive it very little. Not sure about the miles,  Its for driving to car shows and so on.

Interested in some cool decals. Bob Hoyts the MAN! I have used his stuff for years, and it holds up. He is also a fantastic guy to work with. CLICK HERE FOR THE WEBSITE.

Had a ’57 Chevy wagon in ’67 my senior year in high school and always had trouble getting past Rhode Island Inspections. I bought the wagon body from friend of a friend for $35, a Texas car, NO RUST, copper and cream color with no motor or trans. Bought a junk yard 6 cylinder, clutch, 3 speed manual trans and converted it from an automatic to 3 speed stick on the floor (Hurst shifter of course). There was no gauge panel which RI didn’t like the first time, had to source that and the glass pack was too loud. Ugh. It was my dream car until I nicked a telephone pole with the right side fender and had to source that. Damn ugly blue/green and had to sell it ($195) to move to Georgia for school.
