A Woody Boater Needs Gauges For His Century.

,

Jeff’s not correct gauges!

Fellow Woody Boater Jeff N from California who is a Outlaw Hot Rod guy and now a Sons Of Varnish Member and is all in on getting his new Century ready for some fun. But he is looking for a new hard to find set of gauges. Does anyone know where a set might be?I would imagine they could be in any shape? Mark Clawson is also there on the West Coast and I am sure could make them like new!

Like these.

Very nice!

In the garage in So Cal!

They drove that trailer across the country! Yikes. I have done the same thing, as we all have

Florida to California!

I love the satin finish

The Gray Phantom engine

In the Garage with the chop top hot rod!

Got treats? My human is out motorcycle riding today. I could dig it out but the teeth marks would be smaller if I had TREATS first.

Thanks Matt for the story, photos, kind words. Yes I’m a rookie boater and went in head first and bought this. If anyone knows a good mechanic for these engines in socal area I would love to drop the boat off to you before my maiden voyage. Plan on getting it in the water a few times before the refinishing starts. The merc and boat both need to be in full gloss . 😁😁😁

first off, I don’t want to get your hopes up but I have this panel and gauge set somewhere. the bakelite panel is roached and hanging on my boathouse wall. i’ll see if I can find the gauges tomorrow but I haven’t seen them in years.

I believe we have an extra set with the ’38 Century Thunderbolt supply of things that came with the boat. Currently all the gauges we have are at Kocian as we sent the whole package up there with instructions to pick out the best and restore them. We expect them all back soon.
