A $600 Bag? What? WAIT, WHAT?

Okay I know there is this inflation thing, BUT. who would pay $600 for one of these? How does this even happen? Do people actually collect L.L. Bean bags. Have they become L.L. Cool Bean bags and are some sort of hipster thing? I mean break dancing is now in the Olympics. GO AUSTRALIA! And yes for those thinking. Oh boy, its a rough day for Matt. I have been burning the candle up for a huge effort at work and well. Standards of journalistic have suffered…. More than usual.
Note the bag on WECATCHEM. YA. I also have a Blue one for Stinky. $10 at a yard sale stuff, They are fantastic for holding sunglasses, wallet, and other small stuff. The Boatress calls them my purse. Now that they are worth $600 each, who’s laughing now!

NOW, to be clear, there are some of these online for 20 bucks. So it must be some sort of label or stitch count situation. So if you have some or one of these someplace in your pile of crap. It could be gold! Crazy that some of the stuff we all use everyday is collectable.
Just because it is listed for $600 does not mean that it will sell for that price.

I suspect the $20 price for used ones is more realistic but remember that sign that sold for $15K
I have the little tool pouches from Lowes that clip togther on the SS. One for registration ect and the others hold a few small compact tools and a flashlight. Bigger bag = more crap. Which there is enough of on the boat. On the big boat I have enough tools to run and auto repair shop.

I saw a story on the news over the past week that these LL Bean canvas tote bags are suddenly a must-have item and people are paying big money for them. I can’t understand why because LL Bean still sells them. They are handy and durable and come in several sizes but I can’t imagine paying more that what they cost in the Bean catalog/website but then again I’m not trendy or stylish.
An ’80’s bag may be better made and more durable, but a new one this size is $25.

Here is a picture of mine with my hand for scale. My kids loved it when they were smaller. They put their stuff in the bag to go out in the boat.
I heard during the Paris Olympic coverage that Snooop Dog has over 500 man bags…WHY??? I don’t think he uses a man bag to carry emergency boat repair tools… I wonder if he has a LL Bean bag in his collection
