Up against huge national brands. You may have seen some of the ads in the Brass Bell, and will see them as headers on Woody Boater. We would like to congratulate and thank the writer, fellow Woody boaters Bruce “Rabbit” Bildsten and photographer Shawn Fenn who took the amazing photos that you have been seeing. The main purpose of the marketing is to ask people to do more than just own a boat, but to live the Woody Boater lifestyle. These ads show people enjoying life on the water in a Woody Boat. The ” award winning” ads will be rolling out through out the year.

Wow, what is going on here? Before long, when I talk about WoodyBoater to my family and friends, they may actually relate, and not look at me as some old varnish head that is still back in the 20th century!
Congrats to all involved in the award and all the great work it represents.

Great work by all involved. I like the “surrounded by woods” and “throw it in the river” ones the most so far.

I second that…these two posters caught my eye immediately. Absolutely beautiful photography…and well deserved awards! Bravo, WoodyBoater!

Evangelizing about the joys of wooden boating is noble work. Congratulations on your win!

Just promise, Matt and Texx, not to show up at my door in suits, smiling too much. (I keep a taser in the umbrella stand.)

These ads need to be placed in high end, high quality non boating publications like GQ, Style, etc, to entice to non boater to join the hobby. The ad quality is certainly there, and the messages are spot on. Great work guys well done.

Of course, with the increased demand for boats caused by the sudden influx of new woodyboaters, all of our current boats triple in value. Good scheme!!!

As an aside, I always tell people taking their first ride in a wooden boat, “Just think….this used to be a tree!” Gives a whole new appreciation for our golden girl. Hey, that could be a poster caption, too!

Geez, that iPhone camera thing is working out for you. A small fish in the big DC pond catches some collateral worms. A bigger captains cap, thats what I,m talking about, really big. Btw, what’s a brass bell?

    • m-fine
      m-fine says:

The Brass Bell is the quarterly publication of the Chris Craft Antique Boat Club. Luckily, CCABC membership is not restricted to current Chris Craft owners, so owners of other brands looking to upgrade or even those that don’t own a boat yet are welcome to join.

Well done WB! Its greats to get recognition especially from your own industry. Keep up the great work. I can see it now, WoodyBoater goes mainstream and becomes a household word with the likes of Kleenex, Jell-o, phillip head screws, the yo-yo and zippers.

To those asking if these will be posters for sale. Sadly it is a very expensive thing to do, and distribution can also be a time suck. We have a set here at the office that are 24 x 36 and they are amazing. But not cheap to produce. Maybe one day, if there is a bigger store, we will make them available. In the meantime, enjoy them on your screen saver.

The timing sucks, I used to work for a large printer manufacturer and could have just run a bunch off in the labs or demo room and sent them to you for the cost of shipping. We had to run hundreds of thousands of prints to test life cycle, reliability and print quality and no one cared what the images were or where they ended up if not recycled.

Wonder if any readers currently have cheap access to a high quality printer.

Thats a great idea M fine. The shots are jaw dropping large. If a printer out there wants the gig, speak up..

These were fresh the week before the show deadline. The ads are still breaking. Then one show and other awards if possible.
