Bomb Cyclone Memories. You Thought We Forgot!

Now thats its warming up here in Virginia, supposed to be 60 this week, we thought we would look back a day or so when the bomb cyclone of 2018 dropped on us. now many of you may think that -2 isnt that cold, but in a place where the average winter is 30-40 its a whopper.. With Cheese.
Jimmy got run off the road by some kids out joy riding and took off. We had to find a guy with a tractor and pull him out. Wow! The worst of man, and the best of man in a two hour period

Nothing works, people shut stuff down, and well, you boats get cold. Now we also on top of that had one of the lowest tides since we have been here.

A normal summer day
The weather broke all sorts of records and it is what it is. The good news is we never lost power…Internet and faith in our Fellow WoodyBoaters to cheer us all up in the comment section. Troy and M-fine were on fire. Even the Boatress jumped in. So here are some shots from our bombing. What do you have? Share the warm..ish memories today!

I dragged my human a couple miles every day. He’s still obese. Here is where he goes boating without me.
So after 13 days of below normal cold and a 15 inch snow storm things should be back to normal this week and we may hit 50 degrees on Friday.
Luckily we never lost power and the furnace kept running ….
I did setup a trough under the boat after getting sick of dumping buckets of hot water on the gravel floor (outdoors). Going to fill it tonight and see how the submersible heater does at keeping it from freezing (in normal conditions).
We woke up to -20 on Sat. morning in Northern Michigan. We did go skiing where it rose to a delightful 4 degrees in the afternoon but really with total sunshine and no wind it wasn’t bad at all. Sometimes looking at the frozen lake this time of year it is hard to believe we actually do go boating here.
Nothing like seeing frozen lakes/rivers in Northern Mi. in winter. When you are out on one snowmobiling where you boated six months earlier it does makes you think. They are truly beautiful! Thanks for the Pic.
The drama now is that after receiving about two feet of snow over the last few weeks we are due to get rain on Thursday. Shoveled three roofs yesterday in preparation.
The sunset yesterday was BEAUTIFUL!
Parts of the Long Island Sound are frozen over, normally a lot of fast moving salt water here at West Meadow.
I have all of Troy’s snow but it’s been too cold to get the old 8N started to plow. I’m going to give it another try this afternoon. Thank goodness we drive Jeeps. How are the app repairs going?
Shocking to see frozen harbors so far south. I hope this doesn’t become the new norm?
