Steve Lapkin Takes Over As Brass Bell Editor.
If you think 2020 is all bad stuff, here is proof that the balance of the universe is still in motion. Long time fellow Woody boater and Image maker Steve Lapkin has stepped up to the plate to become the editor of the best designed magazine in the classic boat universe. The Chris-Craft Antique Boat Clubs BRASS BELL.
Steve has reached out to all involved at the start of the redesign, Bill Basler and the wonderful team at Catalyst to make sure this will be taken to the next level. We here at WoodyBoater are thrilled beyond words. Okay, I just wrote some words, so not sure how I can be beyond words while writing them. LOOP ALERT.. Hold on, dang it, I get all tangled up in my thoughts and .. God are you still reading? Why? It will just make your head hurt. Where was I?
Oh yea Steve Lapkin. Steve has all our respect and commitment to also help out. And we invite you to do the same. Some stories we get here are more magazine worthy that daily fodder and so we will be working more closely with Steve to make that happen. Bad spelling and all.
Also the Boat Buzz deserves some new energy, so I have been trying to be more involved in that. The Boat Buzz is a wonderful place to ask questions and keep information reliable. Facebook is not. And The boat buzz doesn’t use algorithms to re-market you with crap. PLEASE! PLEASE! For your own sanity, focus your questions to the Buzz. Join the club. Between the Brass Bell and Boat Buzz alone worth the price of admission. YOU CAN JOIN HERE.
And since we are talking about Lake Tahoe.. We were right? VOTE THE BOAT! Sweet Pea wants your love! VOTE HERE.
He is a special talent. A tremendous ambassador for classic boats. Good news indeed.
Wow! Who skied behind Thunderbird?! That took skill, strength & a slight deficiency of sanity.
It was a great day !
Congrats Steve. Wish you the best of luck with the publication.
good idea to re energize the Boat Buzz…..Steve will get it done…the magazine is really good. We have to thank any and all fellow boaters who step up and take on stuff like this…I never would/could….naw…its “would”…..I could…but I just lack the time or energy…thanks to those who have it!

Congratulations to both Steve Lapkin and Brass Bell. Steve has the artistic and editorial skills, as well as an expansive knowledge of our community and boats, to bring the publication to it’s fullest potential. I look forward to seeing the end result!!
As President of the Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club, I am thrilled that we have Steve Lapkin taking over as Managing Editor of the Brass Bell. We are so excited to see his creativity and ability shine in the next issue. Congratulations Steve
Congrats Steve on your recent appointment. Every once in a while experience come to the fore and proves useful. Enjoy !
I too have been trying to help on the Buzz too but to be honest some of the new people have been down right rude questioning the advice and quoting their restorer.
Without real moderators it will still be a struggle.
Congratulations Steve Lapkin, great choice, looking forward to your spin on how its done. Also, thank you Steve Griffitts for your dedication and work on the Brass Bell as editor over your time in the chair. Excellent job.
Congratulations Steve! These beautiful boats have become woven into your DNA and your friendships.
I think it’s wonderful that you are embarking on yet another boating adventure that will create even more friends in the hobby. Better find myself a Chris Craft.
