Can A Gas Can Be Art? Can It?
My obsession for gas cans and cushions is a problem. The only saving grace is I do have some sort of money governor when it comes to crazy prices. This gas can has tested the limits big time. I LOVE the graphics, and appears to still be useful. I could use it for all my yard items with a mixture of oil and gas.
And it would look cool sitting in the garage. But. at over 300 bucks? I am not sure gas cans are art yet? Oil cans, sure, but gas cans? Then again, art is where you find it and how you use it. YOU CAN SEE IT HERE ON EBAY
It’s cool and collectible, but not $323.99 worth. Save the money for WECATCHEM’s fresh water cooled V8.
That is cool for sure. It amazing shape for age….like most of US!
Amoco marketed that “white gas” that you were to use in two cycle outboards back in the day and so they put out several of those cans….I have one….somewhere….
this one is over priced though.

The can itself is art with wonderful art applied to it. Double cool. I know that’s probably not helping.
The outboard part in the header I recognize now since I just bought a Challenger motor. But why am I looking for a CC Kit Boat to go with it ? It’s a disease.
… yeah, and this little C-C kit boat (10′ Racing Pram/Duck Boat) needs to get matched up to a C-C outboard some day to complete it’s ‘artistic’ display.
Randy, what would it take to match it up with my 5 1/2 CC our board?
Have a 14’ CC kit boat available. No rot

Duncan what is that next to the CC Kit boat, on the left of the picture?
I guess it is Art looking for more Art…………………justsaying.
Me thinks it’s nice ‘Art’ – – Especially with the rich patina on the wooden handle and the vivid eye catching graphics- – And this piece of ‘Art’ is pleasing to look at and also has a useful purpose – – To buy or not to buy, that i$ $till the que$tion – –
I note he specifies ‘best offer’. You could try that as unlikely there will be a taker at anywhere near his price. Inexperienced sellers frequently start high for fear of getting ripped off but they sometimes forego realism for dreaming.
i got this can at Hobby Lobby, on sale less than $10. looked like a real gas can, only problem is the caps don’t come off, still looks good thou.
