Exactly Matt – definitely an MGA – they were manufactured from ’55 to ’62. I worked at an MG dealership as a teenager. We had a used twin cam in stock for awhile – they were hard to sell after they were found to overheat causing major engine issues.
Century?
Looks like a Resorter 19 with carrier deck; square nose and soft top slider.
Trucks – 1955-57 I am guessing this shot was shot in that period.
The square looking station wagon in the middle is a Willys 2-door — you just can’t mistake that shape! Most were the standard Willy’s green. My parents bought one new in 1955 and owned it for 5-6 years. Of course, as kids, we didn’t think it was ‘cool’ but they are a classic now.
A second Cobra between the buildings?
Jeff, I think you are right about the second cobra between buildings. The small white boat in the yard down and left of the second Cobra looks like an Aristocraft. The outboard motor and especially the transom shape looks like a 12′ Torpedo model.
The 12′ model is the Typhoon and 14′ is the Torpedo. Something this small would be only a fair weather boat on the lake.
Is that a twin engine late 40’s early 50’s CC 25′ Sportsman in your 4th picture with its boat cover half way rolled back. And if that’s a 25 footer then that’s a triple 26 or 27 footer under cover next to it based on shape and length. Where’s your x-ray machine?
btw, regarding your “math captcha” routine – the last I recall, ?-3=4, answer should be 7, It didn’t like it (twice) so I tried 8, didn’t like it,,.so I tried 6 and it took it. Is this the new math????
I WAS wondering the same thing yesterday. After I wrote a nice LONG post, and included a picture a simply 2+2 = catcha would not accept ” 4 ” and I tried three times. and had to give up cause I was late for a meeting.

What I have figured out about the math captcha is it will time out, if you are writing a long comment make sure you copy it, if it doesn’t work refresh the page and paste your comment.
Am I the only one that logs into classified so that I don’t have to do the math? It lasts for about a month than I have to log in again.

WOW, so we can say its at least 1958 Maybe a tad later. But not early 50s
A couple of the outboards look like V4 OMC, also new for 1958.
All things considered, this is a nice clear photo taken from an airplane probably using commercial photography technology of that time. No satellites, Google Earth, drones were used and I doubt a U2 spy plane did this. Impressive!

Great comments everyone. I date the photo as 1959 or ,60. There is a Coronado of that period in the picture. Sierra was the Century dealer on Tahoe, so the brand is well represented. I find it interesting that two of our customers had brought there relatively new, 21′ Cobras to us.

I agree Feathercraft. There was one on the river when we lived in IL & the shape of the aft half was remarkably similar to my Aristocraft Typhoon. Hard to tell, but this doesn’t appear to have the deck scoop of an Aristo.
