Dolling Up The Old Pro – A Day At The Spa
I had the Sea pro sold, and well. The buyer is in in mid 80’s and just wanted a simple boat to go fishing in. PERFECT! But he had some medical issues and his wife freaked out. SOOOO? I took the Sea Pro to the spa to make he feel better about being rejected. And she is all fluffed up and ready with a but lift, and some makeup. New battery and getting a new Sunbrella top for her T top. Okay, it’s not a 193? Something, but this little battle ship gets you where you wanna go, and when you wanna go. Started right up and away we went. To lunch, and back. I HATE SELLING STUFF. So chances are unless someone needs or wants it, she will stay at the dock and do work for me all summer. And next year she will be a classic!

SWEET PEA waitng for her spring cleaning

Ready to roll

Ready for fish guts

Keepn that shine a shine’n

Gotta love having a gantry

Wife’s still freak out in their 80s about boats
Something to look forward to
Thanks woodyboater
Best comment ever. 😂
Seconded!
It’s a shame the sale didn’t work out. Sounds like the elderly gentleman had health issues & his wife was concerned about him being out on a boat alone.
I can relate to this. I just turned 80 and have not been able to enjoy my Boston Whaler as much as I would like, because of balance issues. Therefore, I’ve got it up for sale and this may have been my last boat after 36 others over my lifetime time of boating.
I too am over 80 and the balance issue is the most bothersome. I can only ride my 10 speed bike when its in the trainer stand. No standing up in the Sea Skiff when its bouncing through the waves either.
I’ve got 4 more years until I hit 80 and just finished a 35 and 47 mile weekend bike event capping my training to insure fitness after radiation/chemo treatment 6 months ago, The bike shop I helped out during Covid built my new carbon fiber gravel bike with electronic shifters that will allow me to reconfigure shift patterns on the fly using the SRAM phone app. Tech is crazy and makes staying fit a challenge but keeps the mind active as well as the body. Guys (and Gals), hit the gym, you’ll see a lot of retirees there because of the Silver Sneakers Medicare plan that gives you free (so called) membership to fitness centers with your Silver Sneakers card. We need to stay active for our hobby. I know its harder for northerners to work out due to weather. I met several northerners from Michigan and a couple from Duluth (Minn) on their bikes that came south to Ga in their camper and got a jump on spring and avoid the “mud season” in March/April.
That’s very impressive.
