Exclusive From Woods And Water Images By Steve Lapkin – HORNET II And MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

, , ,

OH DEAR GOD!

Friday dawn, as in last evening before the big jaw dropper at John Allens little get together in his car port. We have some very exclusive images of HORNET II for all of us regular folk to drool over. Oh trust me, they are all having an A.D.D. hangover this morning from the party last night. AND yes we have some images of that. We have so many images it’s a tad nutso. Dane has sent in some killer stuff about the show and last night as well. MY HEAD HURTS, here we are headed into the grey abyss of content and I am chocking on pure golden color!

Header maybe? WHAAAAAT???

Gotta have a chase boat – Mine is a 1998 Sea Pro with a worn out 2 Cycle Outboard that leaves an oil slick like the Exxon Valdez

If you look closely even John can’t really believe himself. I cannot imagine that the entire crew up there is not worn out from “relaxing”.

WOW

“Just don’t break down, just don’t break down….”

Alright, let’s get this puppy back and go jaw dropping at Lee’s.. Oh, yes we are on a first name basis now.

And ow Dane takes us in for a little taste of last nights BBQ in the carport. GAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Look what welcome you. The 1932 Duesenberg Model J Figoni Sports Torpedo was named Best of Show at the 2022 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance

And an old Benz in the carport. GAAAAAAAA! And yes thats a music box in the background.

Okay, okay, okay. It’s already an overload of imagery here, and this is like 1% of the stuff in the Anderson Collection.

It is a boat show after all. Oh did we mention, that the one of three huge boat houses have rails that are custom made for each boat. Hold onnnnnnnnnnnnnsnileborylvbfalev, dam it, drool got into the keyboard. Sorry.

Ice sculptor of BABY BOOTLEGGER. WWWWWHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAT! Dane sure knows the kinda stuff I love!

LEEEEEE! LEEEEEE! Get that old boat out of the driveway, Shirley and Edna are coming over to play Mahjong and I don’t what your stuff out there.

And just because many of you are wondering, TAYLOR M is hanging out at the dock…alone.. Just her and her stories. WOW!

TAYLOR Made for all of us.

Oh, Back to the cars!

For you Duster. Lancia

There is more of course, and of course with all my kidding around, What John Allen and Lee Anderson are doing for our community is so beyond generous. They are givers, builder’s, preservationist’s and encourager’s. Leaders. It warms my clogged heart to know that they are saving this amazing stuff for future generations. Oh, don’t fret,  they are having fun doing it, but the contribution of all this lifts our entire passion up. Our boat’s deserve this sort of special pedestal to be set upon.  It’s good to have goals, to have dreams and to see that they can be achieved in anyway we can go for. I would have never even thought of having a Railway preserved without these guys. An old boat yard? WHAT? Ya, why not. They did it, of course in an insane way. HOWE MARINE? Buy an old Marina and preserve it? WHY NOT? They did it. I found an old boat in a field and want to save it. WHY NOT? They did it. THAT’S what this is all about. Dreams fulfilled, possibilities achieved, and hope and gratefulness that there are people like John, Lee, Bob, and you, yes you , our readers, that are putting there money and drive to the betterment of us all.

Correct Matt, thank you and all the others that keep leading us in our passion for these beautiful watercraft!
Overload is the right word for today’s story. Just one ride in Hornet ll, that’s all I ask!

I saw Hornet out playing yesterday morning from our deck, high on the hill. Gorgeous, but there needs to the sound of that huge V12 with the picts!

The event at Lee’s museum is simply indescribable. Even Paul Harrison could not find the words to do it justice. Cliche, but you just needed to be there to bask in it all for Baby Bootleggers 100th birthday party.

While taking my photos I was trying my hardest to act cool and respectful, but I’m sure I looked like a Japanese tourist mainlining Red Bull.
Just grateful that John and Lee open their collections to us.

As John Allen said last night, one of the great things about our hobby is we can all participate at whatever level we want to.
On behalf of the entire Woods and Water crew, thanks to all the boat owners who traveled to Minnesota to play along with us! There’s no boat show without boat owners’ participation.
And thanks to Woody Boater for the enthusiastic coverage!

Hey Nehmer kid. It is good to hear from you. I enjoyed meeting you, and talking with you at Hessel. Also once again great pictures of extradordinary boats.
