Gull Lake Lyrical Lapkin

Not sure what Steve is gonna do here.

INTO THE MYSTIC……AT GULL LAKE”

Van Morrison’s Into The Mystic is perhaps the single song that best captures the artist’s talent for crafting peaceful tunes with poetic lyrics that showcase life through a spiritual lens. I, as well, often think of my particular eye/lens as transcendent…..unmatched, if not supernatural. —— Matt Here. It may help if you play this while you read the rest.

First appearing on the 1970 album Moondance, Into The Mystic is a timeless classic that has touched the hearts of many over the years, and continues to do so today. Wouldn’t you agree, as well, our cherished mahogany masterpieces are timeless!

WOW

John Allen is one of the nicest and most generous of all WoodyBoaters. Mystic Boaters?

On the surface, Into The Music may appear to simply be a song about boating, and the musical arrangement floats along in agreement with that. Take a gander at that which we planned for a day on-the-water, yesterday, at Gull Lake. Some of John Allen’s choicest of the choice.

More reflection

And take a closer look at the lyrics; we find that the song has a deeper meaning that casts the image of boating as a metaphor for one’s journey through life. Yesterday at Gull Lake was, undeniably, some amazing hours of reflection and appreciation.

Perfection

Even in grey weather Lapkin magic shines. Okay, the boat helps.

Hacker Love

This is insane!

I need to call my therapist

Boat rides can be a certain type of therapy.

No wonder Captain John Smith fell in love with Pocahontas

GAAAAAAAAAAA Even the stickers look great, Note the colors

John Allen’s first acquisition, in 2001, was a Hacker “30-30”. I relished the opportunity to follow along with wide angle and telephoto glass. Then came Mowitza, his splendid Ditchburn Viking; spectacular, would you not agree? His Greavette is Pocahontas……..I just had to have him come at me, nose to nose. John also has not one, but three Earl Barnes delights. Here is his triple-cockpit on-plane. Yet, upon completion of our morning runs, unfortunately under rather sullen grey skies, we returned to the shops to prepare Miss Algonac for an anticipated launch and water test tomorrow.

LOVE THIS FONT. Lots of research went into this. Bo and Kathy you all ROCK!

HOLY CRAP!

Speechless

I cant get enough of all this

Relaxing

Firing the Hall-Scott A7 took a bit of encouragement but, as you hopefully will see in the accompanying video, she came to life with a roar once again.

Lapkin Splashkins

WOW, okay I have said wow too many times. I sound like Mr B.. WOW WOW WOOWWWWW!

I am not sure if I want to be John, or Steve? Thank you Sir Steve Lapkin and Sir John Allen. Sirs of the land of Woodyboaterville. It’s a new royal thing we are working on.

The show is just several days off – yet I will bring you some equally stimulating notes and images prior to Saturday. Let’s also hope for a return to blue skies and fair winds. Into the mystic we go. The mass of boat entrants should be arriving any hour now. Each of these ladies were ‘born before the wind.’ SL

Wow again. WoodyBoater comes through with a mahogany spiritual experience this morning. So great to see those beautiful ladies on plane as they were meant to be. Thank You Steve, John and Matt for a great start to Thursday morning.
Soon off to Port Huron for our last committee meeting before the big event. 70+ boats registered to date.

Wonderful shots of some great boats. Fitting that Mowitza is one of the boats featured; today we are holding a Celebration of Life for Bill Cleland, her former owner. Bill had many boats over the years but Mowitza was his favourite.

loved listening to the music while scanning the pictures; great work Steve with the lense, John for sharing his boat collection and Matt for the creative genius he is, sharing a muskoka classic Alzeda

Nice shot of the Greavette. Looks like something I would do. Use a current registration sticker on one side and use the other current one on another boat.
