How Does One Get That Cool Vintage Transom Look?
With most of the true hand letterers retiring and the art of such things being lost to time, how does one keep the look and feel of type alive. You can rifle through thousands of fonts to find something that kinda comes close, copy a font from an old book, or just go to letterheadfonts.com it’s an amazing web site, with font styles that are as exact as a you can make them. All that is needed to make them more real on your boat is imperfection. An oogy as my pal Kaptain Krunch from Wino signs puts it. Look through the fonts. And then look in the gallery. It’s still an art, but now you can download it for a small fee. A bargain if you consider the amount of research and time that it takes to make something old cool again.. Kinda like your classic boat.
