The car boat combo has always been an interesting thing for me. But it needs to feel natural not forced for me. I like the idea that the combo could have been a spontaneous thing. Like an old Woody Ford and a row boat.
It can capture a moment of time. This model from the Quarter Master Series from AMT, captures that moment.
The Avocado paint is cool, and since its a model you could build it any way you want. Or leave it in the box. I think sadly the value is greater apart than together. Which invites a different conversation of the time to sell a Barn Find, or in this case a Attic Find.
Yet the concept is all intertwined. The un built model, the un cleaned barn find. You are buying or finding hope. At least if you CLICK HERE you are. of course not like finding it at a yard sale for $2
I prefer to cut out the middle man and go straight to combining the car and boat….
There used to be a convertible version of that one running around Lake Washington. Haven’t seen it for a few years now… 🙂
The model boat reminds me of Floyd r turbos picture from the 70s. It would be fun to have enough time to sit down and build that combo really slick. I liked the Model A wagon, swap that canoe out for a Fitzke paddle board, and lets go.
Picture of my v-drive raceboat from the 70’s (was it that long ago?) are on one of my laptop hard drives to be recovered. Coincidentally, the paint graphic scheme on the avocado model is the same as mine but mine was red and white and I pulled it with a ’64 GTO 389 with tri-power. The boat was 454 cubic inches bored out to 502 with twin 650 Holley carbs. I wish I had a dollar for every gallon of premium I burned back then.
Im sure that a lot have seen my 59rig with the factory built reinellbut I am doing a59 elcamino for another rig with red/white boat
How ’bout this one? 😂
