I Am Guilty Of Being Secretly Bored.

Art, Classic Boats

I am not sure whats happening. But the cold hard truth is that I have yet to put any of the Woody boats in the water. Oh, I tried to get B in there, but she wouldn’t start, the 6 volt battery just didn’t have the umph to get her over the fuel hump. So back in the shop she went, and sits.

No don’t get me wrong here. I LOVE the entire world around boating, classic boating to be more specific. But, when ever I think I need to get WECATCHEM in the water and GO! I have other more pressing needs. Like mowing the lawn, or a zoom call.  WHAT IN THE HELL IS HAPPENING?

AHHHHHHHHH

I have often said we are all like serial killers. We need more dopamine to keep excited. Chopping up boats and eating them though is not the answer. Do I need a new toy? A Cobra? Something to excite me? And is that just an endless need that will never be filled? My emotions say one thing, and my rational side says , shut the F up, you have the ultimate boat, the 25 Sportsman, and its all dialed in and just enjoy it.

Paradise. Maybe its the friends.

I think you need a boat ride bad. Make it a priority, get out there and all the rest will fall into place!

I think you need a new “project” to push you, challenge you. And enjoy a finished project (B, Stinky, Wecatchem) to get to and from the Railway to work on it.

I know you LOVE to get out on the water with your family, but lets face it “the chase” is what really fuels your soul.

It’s the chase of finding Baby Chick, Stinky, doing “B” as the WoodyFloater project, ….

You don’t have to keep them all. You let Baby Chick go. Now get to searching out your next dream project and see what you find. Maybe just take a trip to Howe Marine and simply pick something out, but that’s not going to be as exciting as a “Barn Find”.

Oh Troy……..I have a large number of barns stuffed with stuff that to a first-timer, all look like barn finds, so I could keep Matt wide-eyed for a good while, then a nice steak dinner with my family’s bourbon to round out the thought process on which one(s) he needs to take back to Reedville.
Hell, even I couldn’t resist Seth’s stash…….but I’m not allowed to build any more pole barns until Patti gets a new kitchen.
So, I’m going to do a “two for one” sale, just so I can go on the hunt for more “barn finds”.
      And build a new kitchen……too. 😊

Matt, sounds like you’re tired. The drive to New Orleans and back would be enough but everything else on top!!!!! Might merit a REST?

The ride, and then painting and working. It is all a little too much to wrap my head around. The boat lifts are wonky and have been waiting for the guy to fix them for over a year…okay two years. And seems like every time I just want to go, I ned to do three things to make that happen

Forget about the lifts. You have a lot of dock space to handle the boats!

Would it be blasphemy to suggest you need to cull the herd?

Remember the scene with Cher in “Moonstruck?” , snap out of it!
Let’s review, Railways, Jeep. Memorabilia galore, so many boats I can’t even do an inventory.
Mr.B – do I need to continue? Ok , wife who has super strong neck muscles from shaking her head all the time with your things and personality. Go for a boat ride, blow the cobwebs out of your, eh- exhaust and take some pictures. Now go!

Maybe, just maybe, you’re getting older! Although my boats are now gone, I’ve found if I slow the projects I do have, down a bit, I enjoy the process so much more. Otherwise, I become frustrated and disappointed in myself for not achieving more. Who are we trying to impress, just have fun in what ever you decide to do. You don’t have to conquer the world by yourself!
