It’s Time To Time Travel With Time Capsule Slides, If You Have The Time.

Canada?
The big reason I love old slides is the color feels real, the process holds over time when kept in a dark place. Like a box in the closet. Also most are crisp, and the process of putting the image on paper isn’t one resolution removed from the actual negative. In other words its all right there. And from time to time we get a cool glimpse into our history as if it had been shot today. Thats kinda like time travel.

The sunglasses age this image, thats it, and the life jackets,

This could have been taken this past summer

Wedding?
The seller feller on ebay is from Niagara Falls, so it is possible the images are from that area of the country. Anyone recognize them? the boats? THE EBAY LISTING IS HERE
Great photos. Most locks look similar, but it sure does look like the one at Port Carling, between Lakes Muskoka and Resseau. Maybe Chris Bullen can weigh in on this one.
I can weigh in, and say that is the Port Carling locks.
And I can weigh in, and say this is the incredible Julie Bullen taking pictures from the Port Carling Locks gate.
Check out the roofline in the background of this one. All they did was add the sign…
Matt, do Chris and I get some WoodyBoater wieners?
I can tell you it’s NOT the lock on Haynes Creek between Lake Eustis and Lake Griffin on the way back from Pirats Oaisis.
Counting down to Dora!
I can tell you it’s not the Soo Locks either. No tour boats or Lake freighters. Good observation Greg and Chris.
And I can tell you it is NOT anywhere on the Mekong River in Vietnam or Thailand either, as proof below.
Slides are so very cool. Three hour slide shows done by your neighbor….not so much.
The slides are cool, and interesting to ponder, especially if one can identify with the area, but what does someone do with 4 or 5 photos of strangers?
Matt,
Thanks for being there every day. Merry Christmas
Pete
Port Carling Boat Show, Lake Rosseau and the Indian River into Lake Muskoka through the Port Carling licks.
