Janet-O And Slow Starts

Janet-O is almost ready for work

For many of you early morning risers, Woody Boater has always been there for you. Me too. I always try and meet an 8AM deadline. But recently things have been a tad slow, and to top it off, the email widget is dead. And needs to be replaced, and while we are at it, Woody Boater needs a new bottom and so on. Can-O-Worms so to speak. And in a way kinda like restoring a boat while underway. Add to that some lagging COVID energy drain, and I find it harder to wake up at the usual 4AM. It will all get back to normal, whatever normal is. And in the mean time since not much is going on in the Woody Boater universe…. BTW always this way around this time of year.  And now speaking of some CAN-O, here is JANET-O

BACK IN THE DAY ON THE RAILS – Janet O is named after Janet and Olivia, the daughters of the owner. And yes Janet and Olivia are around and fantastic people. JANET-O sure has some amazing Karma

After a power wash. YIKES. There was nothing left to paint. the great news is her owner Stan is a fantastic guy and wants to save history like we all do. He made the tough call to fix the years of cover and paint.

She was here during the boat show in her naked self

BABY CHICK kept her company at night. Just two old ladies hanging out at the nursing home

She has been repaired, and painted, and painted.. Lettered, and its great to see her happy

I added a 1959 since she deserves some respect. Built here at the Railway back then.

She does complete the look! And BTW, Janet-O still is a hard work’n gal.

Love when history remains an active in-use display.

The neighbor has one heck of a standby generator. That could power Woodyboater for a while.

So what kind of work does Janet-O do?? I see a tall pole midship. Could there be some pole dancers? But I’m assuming more legitimate employment such as fishin’, crabin’, or oyserin’. Her short little cabin top reminds me of some brute muscular wrestler with bulging muscles and a tiny head or even a German WWII bunker overlooking the Normandy beaches poking its little concrete cap out of the sand dunes and scrub bush. But that’s just me.

Can you tell a 63 year old gal she has a plump stem? Is it possible to explain it’s a term of endearment before you get slapped? Perhaps by saying it with a big smile.

I’m definitely adding this to my repertoire of compliments.

Janet – O looks GREAT!!! When we were there we spent the evening timing the bilge pump hoping she would stay afloat.

Speaking of Covid energy drain, mine ended up going into pneumonia. Talk about an energy drain!
