Nice detail shots while visiting pals. This was posted while at Katzs

Just fun shots

Hijinks while at lake Dora.

The Boatress and Scooter Bouregard.

Bortner and his Short..ners
Those shorts are rescue me orange. Matt do you have a pair on the boat now? How about an oyster knife? Instagram huh? Ok so we would be getting more live-ish shots and comments of things that you would be up to and things that Texx or someone else was posting if we signed up to their account? Well I’m going to give it a shot. Does tow boat -U.S. Have an Instagram page in Reedville?
The WB Instagram page is well worth checking out and signing up! There are more wood boat pictures on Instagram than you might think. But WB is the best.
I’m in now.
Thanks Bob, also sign up for his page, Sierra Boat Co, the antique Boat museum and the Ramsey Bros also have a great page. For the times you are just sitting on a train or waiting room there is a content feed of Mahogany
Do it on your mobile device with the app. Before you know it you will be on it three or 4 times a day. Also, our kids use it alot so you can have fun keeping up with your friends and family
Great pics!!!! Love that phone.
I love that you stay so current, but for me I am “Social Media’ed” out. I am even avoiding FB right now, too much time wasted on much ado about nothing. Besides I don’t think Instagram works on my Cpt. Kirk phone.
Haven’t y’all heard on the news lately that starring at the smartphone too much causes neck rot!
You know, classic boating is a nice hobby but I find little need or desire to check an instagram feed to see more pic’s – you guys do a great job already; do we nee more saturation? It has been a year since I logged onto Facebook and I have not missed that time sapping mess one bit. I occasionally see my wife’s FB – what a ceaseless load of dreck that vapid, preening watering hole has become.
I could not care less about Instagram, Pininterest or especially Twitter. Somehow we have evolved to think that simply attaching ourselves to someone else’s life or allowing them to attach to ours makes us “social”. I don’t see it that way; I see the proliferation of these platforms and behaviors actually has the opposite effect and creates a barrier to REAL first person social contact and relationships.
I will eave the “enjoyment” of instagram and its’ ilk to others, and I will see my boating friends live and in person in Minnesota.
Paul H – “Amen”
Paul, I’m with you 100% I always wonder where people find the time for this stuff. How ’bout we start our own little social meeting place…”Ignoreagram”?
I second the” amen”.
AMEN, AMEN, AMEN, BROTHER… all I need is another time suckin app to be temped to look at three times a day…
But I will amit, come January and the l o n g cold winter blues set in, I just might be ready for more WoodyBoater stuff.
Amen brother!
We (not us) have lost our way.
Throw away these life wasters.
Read a book
Perhaps a newspaper
It’s called “choice”
Paul:
I enjoy my daily fix from Woody Boater but if others need more and have time for more, well more power to them.
Frankly I can’t imagine how Matt could give us more and maintain a “daytime job” but if he can and if he is willing….well more power to him as well.
Let’s have another AMEN!
I only get to go to two or three boat shows per year. Matt and Texx allow me to see so much more that is going on in our hobby. So when I got my first Iphone yesterday I signed up for Instagram this morning. Keep up the good work and Thank you.
Is this the app where you send nude selfies that dissapear in 6 seconds? Given the demographics of the hobby, I am not sure we need such a thing.
That is Snapchat.
Wow! So many negative responses! I find people get grumpy when there is nothing to do In the upcoming weekend in their favorite hobby. But WAIT! The Toledo Antique and Classic Boat show is this weekend! There is so much to see here including the Brig Niagara and the National Museum of the Great Lakes.
Go to http://www.toledoboatshow.com for schedule and registration info!
Big Bear, Ca which bills itself as the longest running antique and classic boat show is this coming weekend.
This is not a comment to today’s post rather a request for answers
You never did tell us why the hydro at Lake Tahoe sunk
When a boat goes down at the dock it’s a concern
I ask could mine go down for the same reason
If you don’t know the reason you can’t take steps to insure you don’t have the same issues
Looking for answers

R daley – We have a full series of photos documenting the sinking and recovery of the hydroplane at Lake Tahoe that we are planning to use for a story on Woody Boater.
Although we need to confirm the actual cause of the sinking with the owner, it appeared to be either a dead battery or failed bilge pump over night. They were able to get the boat out of the water quickly and dried out. – Texx
Hahaha! You dinasors are killing me! Ha
Dinasors? Well, at least we can rest assured that Matt’s spelling remains constant in this ever-changing world… CQ
Maybe this should be an instagram shot?
