Just One More Turn Please. Last Gasping 2019

Tucked away for another year
One of the many reasons to own several boats, is you get to last gasp many of them. This weekend we took a brief break in the weather and ran WECATCHEM on a slow wonderful run. It wasnt long, but it’s amazing what the sound of the W and the sun can do for ones soul. The other good news, I was able to capture it in this 2 minute video so I can relive it all winter long. Next week, Stinky, and then maybe Sweet Pea.

Backing into the barn
I have found a light in the engine bay does the job. So just in case we get a warmer day in January, a winter boat ride is in order. CRANK IT UP! Just the fine music of a Flat Head W doing her thing!. AHHHHHHHH
Very nice!
Great video of a sweet ride. Love the motor start burping to life.
Thank you for the great video. I really needed that this morning. 10+ inches of snow in the driveway this a.m.
Greatest boat I have ever ridden in….bar none.
Give Jimmy credit for being there for the haul!
I am retrieving my Scout 30 from the boatyard tomorrow and doing a suddenly very cold Going Boating back to the covered slip. Boatsafe heater keeps me boating all winter….some of the best time on the Chesapeake!
John in Va.
Very cool clip!
Thanks Matt, needed that.
4 degrees here this morning, water getting hard, boats all tucked away.
Yup…needed that.
No pistol grip? How did I miss that in all the pictures I have seen of this boat?
Is there a story there? Factory? Add On? One off for Chris Smith’s favorite nephew?
Of course if I missed the explanation somewhere along the line feel free to ignore..
Thanks for the ride Matt.
Very nice Matt. Nice.
Send that 60 to channel and run it at 400 tarps over winter.
HA, I have the 60 on instagram. Whats sick is I could probably hammer out a 30. I think the 60 gets the point across. 400 TRP’s in Feb at some local station in some god for saken place . Just to say I did it. HA. TRP’s to those of you wondering what the hell that is. Target Rating Points. Its a media term used to measure the audience reach of TV and Radio. Like Impressions for web viewing. Here is the instagram 60 version.
Thanks for posting that, put an ear to ear smile on my face.
Thanks Matt. Don’t know how Wecatchum didn’t sink with all of us right in there with you on that beautiful ride.
Snowing at Lake George but not too much expected. Brrr.
I will be keeping this video on “speeddial” throughout the winter for my psyche. Were you wiping away tears as you approached The launch ramp? Poor Jimmy having to stand around waiting for you to return while you’re out Joy riding.
All shot on an IPhone I assume. So you’re going rogue on your Smith/??? Marketing Production Co.? Otherwise, I suppose you would have to storyboard it, get a union sound, lighting, wardrobe, and catering crew with a “best boy”. WTH is a best boy anyway. And I don’t mean the ones Liberace was fond of. And then you’d have to pay Jimmy scale. Then Jimmy would have to join the screen actors guild and Jimmy doesn’t look look a union type guy.
Why does your exhaust make a funny honking sound when you shut it off?
Man those boat shoes are squeaky right at the end!
Bloody chilly here in Eastern England today.
Loved your video Matt. Especially as there was no dialogue. Just the sound and feel of being on the boat.
You, and I, are some lucky dudes to own 25 Sportsman’s!
I missed you this spring and again this fall when I boated on by.
Perhaps next spring.
Meanwhile, I will be aboard a non-woody boat. Though it does have a lovely cherry interior. That counts for something.
Dang Alex, that looks like a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) research vessel and sturdy enough to be an icebreaker. You should at least post a shot of that cherry wood interior.
Wish I was out there with you!
Enjoyed watching the clip, but I have to wonder – is boating solo on a vintage woody cc 25′ sportsman some sort of sin?
