M-fine M-ilks The Dora Canal For All It’s Worth, Two Minutes Worth.

,

And a Special Guest Star – Troy and Sandi . Yup in the red boat.

BY PUBLIC DEMAND! AS A PUBLIC SERVICE, A huge thanks to M-fine for a M-uch better 2 minute version of the Dora Canal. It still holds up. And he added some Bosa Nova music, which is a wonderful touch. Mind you, Mfine has been on the road working 24/7  since coming back from lake Dora. so thanks again.

That sure is a beautiful boat ride. I assume that is a man made canal from back in the day when you could do things like that? Thanks Mfine and Matt for the nice ride this morning!
As an aside, I think that IPhone is permanently attached to Matt’s hand, LOL!

Greg, the link between Lake Dora and Lake Eustis has always existed as the Elfin River. This is why the gnome village on the East Bank is so appropriate. It was widened for steamer traffic in the late 1800s.

Yes it is. UGH. I am 24/7 on it, using it and hating it. Its my freedom and my leash. I didnt know he was filming at that point so I was, and ugh. Actors…

I hate to be “that guy”, but I will correct the Man this time – if he is actually answering yes to Greg’s postulation concerning the origin of the canal. I’m not sure if Matt is affirming the physical connection of the Iphone to his hand, or the genesis of the Canal – or both.

The Dora Canal is actually a natural water course, initially named the Elfin River. It was widened twice during the 1870’s/80’s to more easily permit boat transit between Lake Dora and Lake Eustis.

All this interesting info from Shannon and Paul prompted me to do some additional on line research. Some scenes from the African Queen and Tarzan movies were filmed on the Dora Canal. Some great history for sure!

Yesterday was 30 seconds, today was 2 minutes, so by Sunday we should be getting to a slow motion version!

For those who have never been to the Sunnyland show, this video was shot pre-show and captures the essence of a normal day down there. If we didn’t get rain and winded out on Friday, the canal would have been full of classic boats and amphicars in both directions creating a unique dynamic boat show. I guess I will just have to go back again next year to see if I can capture it.

That was good !! A little more to my speed. It made for a great morning virtual boat ride.

Looks like you were there for the daily pontoon cruise. Nice editing, most enjoyable cruise this morning. Sunny and 28 degrees in western Nebraska. Had to replace boat cover yesterday. Old one torn up by Wyoming wind, so I did get to do some boat work this week. Happy Easter to all.
