That’s right, new, wrapped in plastic and about $700 cheaper than the ebay stuff.

I ordered one two years ago from the Mariners Museum and asked them to keep the back order open in case it ever was reprinted.
Low and behold I received an e-mail last Friday that they needed a new Credit Card number and it was ready to ship.
Now I hope someone will reprint Danenberg’s book.
It’s like a big Christmas Wish Book. I always linger too long in the cruisers sections and it has my wife worried.
I am going to buy 1,000 of them and put them on eBay. That should give me plenty of profit to put the kids through college and I could then focus my income on important things like boats and aircraft.
Like Troy I got mine through a back order from the Mariner’s Museum. When I called to update the credit card info I added a second copy to the order. They showed up Yesterday and I excitedly opened the package. Great new look with photos on the cover front and back. Slightly smaller in all dimensions. All was good. Then I opened one up… The quality of the interior looks like it was done on a poor copy machine. The interior photos are very poor quality. I didn’t open the second one ( my intention was to save an unopened copy for posterity) so Iam interested to hear what other copies look
like.
Just to be clear (no pun intended) Iam comparing the new version to my 5 year old dog eared version that has traveled the country in the back of the truck and been passed around the shop through dirty hands. I think I’ll put the old one away and beat up a new one.
Good morning all! Hope everyone is warm and cozy! May have to get a few books, its getting cold out there down here! Heck I remember having Christmas parties in short sleeve shirts and short pants. Rick I did spend a good amount of time looking at cruisers last night and fond myself wondering what the he’ll I need all this real estate for. And that we should sell and move to the marina! Wouldn’t have any property taxes any more and wouldn’t make moving south easy! We’ll I’ll have to break that one to the wife slowly. I may wind up with needing a smaller cruiser and still paying those taxes.

Hi Ed I noticed the same printing issue! Looks like a digital copy of the page. In the end though it’s the factoids that help. The pictures were really never that great. I wonder why this was done this way though? Possibly to save on printing costs to make it possible to reprint. No one is really making a profit on this that’s for sure
That’s not good to hear about the quality. It is however nice that they are available once again. I was hoping that when they came back out it would be a second edition updated with some additional info. I’m into Chris Craft sport boats from the Corsair line and have noticed some inaccuracies. For example, I owned a 19′ Lancer ORFZ-19-3023. The EG says they only built up to 3020. Also, some of the Lancer color information is incomplete. Since I’m only really focused on 40 pages of the book I can imagine the rest of the book has similar issues. I figured there would be some updates done in the past 12 years since it first came out.

I’m glad they are now available at a more reasonable price, but we can’t call it the “Blue Bible” any more!
Anyone ever inquire as to why the Mariners Museum no longer has the Chris Craft archives on display? Just a couple boats back in the small craft section.
I spoke to Pati Hinson about that. They have been moved to the university library down the street. Not sure the reason but it may have had something to do with space.
Dang, I just bought one off E bay for $79.00. Two days ago. I should have waited for woody boater’s flash..
… well Matt, sorry to disallusion you but I doubt whether this new issue will affect the value of the old books one bit. There will always be collectors who want the first issue/model of whatever is being collected.
After all, what is going to have more investment value in the future, an original ’41 Barrel Back or a modern day replica (holds true for cars too)?

yeah they need to make a PDF of it so you can search it. Then make an app. I’m close to just OCR’ing the whole thing and putting an app on the black market.
