OH SHIP! Less Than 20 Days Til Dora.

, ,

Just don’t sit there

Well, it happened again. BLINK, and it’s Faldora time. How does this happen? I mean I know it does, but really? Before we know it it will be Christmas decorating time. Or back to school? AHHHHHHHHHHHHH. You, me, we have just 18 days til lake Dora now. And factoring in the drive, the packing and prepping, thats 3 days, so its really 15 days. And there is this thing called work, the kind that pays. So thats a time suck.

So in reality we all have just hours til we goota get off our aft and git going. So chop chop. And yes you to Greg. Enough “next years” we are gonna drive up there and haul your ass down there next year. YA-HEAR-ME! Okay okay, maybe a little harsh wake up this morning. I got ship to do. Get crack’n. Summer is waiting. In Florida.. Maybe.

Crank up the Pia and lets rock!

A little help?

There is always something strange to see

It’s not just the boats?

Before the storm of people you can have the run of the place

Bring your camera..s

And your sense of humor

And the best thing, you don’t gain weight while you are there. REALLY

Or?

But it will cost ya in the Morning.

This is the real Fladora all in one photo

Something about being couped up all winter kinda all explodes in one weekend of laughter and fun

I loved this boat that was powered by dual V8 Chevrolet with super chargers that set the 1930 world water speed record of 101.248 mph – from 2022

Me too, but I wonder about the validity of those speed record claims, those motors didn’t exist back then, so ok, maybe they’ve been updated. But that hull is very much a design/build that started in California in the 50’s and then was tweaked as the years went on. I have a similar hull from the mid 60’s called a flat bottom v-drive SK race boat and was a product of the 50’s. Maybe they’re meaning that SHELL was a sponsor for that water speed record which I thought Gar Wood owned with his Miss America IX and X series of race boats. Nevertheless, I left drool marks on the deck of this boat and agree with you.
