Ohhh… Sea Sled Lovers!

If you are a Sea Sled guy, or gal. You are gonna poop your pants today, cause here it is thanks to longtime fellow WoodyBoater Jeff Rogers. A SEA SLED SIGN. And yes, She Sold Sea Sled Signs By The Shore, did come to mind, but honestly I don’t have the brain matter anymore to keep it going. Lucky you.

This is a Sea Sled

The one we featured about a year ago

Anyway, the seller feller says it’s old, and with all the reproduction crap out there, one has to always question things like this. BUT. Who in the hell would replicate a SEA SLED sign? Would Someone Secretly Swipe The Style Of Sea Sled Signs? And even more odd is the hardware store. AND the seller feller is also part of Facebook Groups that are all about real stuff, not Simulated Signs Sold By Sleazy Slobs To Suckers. .. There, I did three. Poorly, but I did do 3 so it’s done. Over. no more She Sold Signs Silly Stuff… UGH.
Anyway, here it is on Facebook marketplace.

Brochure Art.

And our Art showing his art. I have no idea where I am now? Oh! by the sea shore selling Sea Sled signs on this stupid sight.

I may have said this before, but it seems to me that the Sea Sled must be the for runner of the modern day offshore power cat.

Albert Hickman had more to do with modern racing than just the twin hulled experience. He also developed the surface drive as seen here on Orlo III in 1921.

There once was a girl from Seattle ,she had a Sea Sled that would skedaddle. I’m not going to tell the rest of the Limerick.

If you think that a hardware store is a funny place to buy a Hickman Sea Sled, how about this: the Marine Department of L. Lechenger, Jeweler. Located in Houston, Texas, this photo is from 1929. Also featured were Chris-Craft motorboats, Robinson Cruisers, Boyd-Martin and Laconia outboard boats.

Dang, what a cool old photo. “Well, honey I was going to buy you an engagement ring at the jeweler but then I fell in love with a 1929 24 ft Chris Craft runabout. Sorry”.
